1 Happy is the man who does not go in the company of sinners, or take his place in the way of evil-doers, or in the seat of those who do not give honour to the Lord.
1 Bem-aventurado o varão que não anda segundo o conselho dos ímpios, nem se detém no caminho dos pecadores, nem se assenta na roda dos escarnecedores.
2 But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and whose mind is on his law day and night.
2 Antes, tem o seu prazer na lei do SENHOR, e na sua lei medita de dia e de noite.
3 He will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, which gives its fruit at the right time, whose leaves will ever be green; and he will do well in all his undertakings.
3 Pois será como a árvore plantada junto a ribeiros de águas, a qual dá o seu fruto na estação própria, e cujas folhas não caem, e tudo quanto fizer prosperará.
4 The evil-doers are not so; but are like the dust from the grain, which the wind takes away.
4 Não são assim os ímpios; mas são como a moinha que o vento espalha.
5 For this cause there will be no mercy for sinners when they are judged, and the evil-doers will have no place among the upright,
5 Pelo que os ímpios não subsistirão no juízo, nem os pecadores na congregação dos justos.
6 Because the Lord sees the way of the upright, but the end of the sinner is destruction.
6 Porque o SENHOR conhece o caminho dos justos; mas o caminho dos ímpios perecerá.
Psalms 2
1 Why are the nations so violently moved, and why are the thoughts of the people so foolish?
1 Por que se amotinam as nações, e os povos imaginam coisas vãs?
2 The kings of the earth have taken their place, and the rulers are fixed in their purpose, against the Lord, and against the king of his selection, saying,
2 Os reis da terra se levantam, e os príncipes juntos se mancomunam contra o SENHOR e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:
3 Let their chains be broken, and their cords taken from off us.
3 Rompamos as suas ataduras e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.
4 Then he whose seat is in the heavens will be laughing: the Lord will make sport of them.
4 Aquele que habita nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.
5 Then will his angry words come to their ears, and by his wrath they will be troubled:
5 Então, lhes falará na sua ira e no seu furor os confundirá.
6 But I have put my king on my holy hill of Zion.
6 Eu, porém, ungi o meu Rei sobre o meu santo monte Sião.
7 I will make clear the Lord’s decision: he has said to me, You are my son, this day have I given you being.
7 Recitarei o decreto: O SENHOR me disse: Tu és meu Filho; eu hoje te gerei.
8 Make your request to me, and I will give you the nations for your heritage, and the farthest limits of the earth will be under your hand.
8 Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança e os confins da terra por tua possessão.
9 They will be ruled by you with a rod of iron; they will be broken like a potter’s vessel.
9 Tu os esmigalharás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.
10 So now be wise, you kings: take his teaching, you judges of the earth.
10 Agora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.
11 Give worship to the Lord with fear, kissing his feet and giving him honour,
11 Servi ao SENHOR com temor e alegrai-vos com tremor.
12 For fear that he may be angry, causing destruction to come on you, because he is quickly moved to wrath. Happy are all those who put their faith in him.
12 Beijai o Filho, para que se não ire, e pereçais no caminho, quando em breve se inflamar a sua ira. Bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.
Psalms 3
1 Lord, how greatly are they increased who make attacks on me! in great numbers they come against me.
1 SENHOR, como se têm multiplicado os meus adversários! São muitos os que se levantam contra mim.
2 Unnumbered are those who say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. (Selah.)
2 Muitos dizem da minha alma: Não há salvação para ele em Deus. (Selá)
3 But your strength, O Lord, is round me, you are my glory and the lifter up of my head.
3 Mas tu, SENHOR, és um escudo para mim, a minha glória e o que exalta a minha cabeça.
4 I send up a cry to the Lord with my voice, and he gives me an answer from his holy hill. (Selah.)

5 I took my rest in sleep, and then again I was awake; for the Lord was my support.
5 Eu me deitei e dormi; acordei, porque o SENHOR me sustentou.
6 I will have no fear, though ten thousand have come round me, putting themselves against me.
6 Não terei medo de dez milhares de pessoas que se puseram contra mim ao meu redor.
7 Come to me, Lord; keep me safe, O my God; for you have given all my haters blows on their face-bones; the teeth of the evil-doers have been broken by you.
7 Levanta-te, SENHOR; salva-me, Deus meu, pois feriste a todos os meus inimigos nos queixos; quebraste os dentes aos ímpios.
8 Salvation comes from the Lord; your blessing is on your people. (Selah.)

Psalms 4
1 To the chief music-maker on corded instruments. A Psalm. Of David.> Give answer to my cry, O God of my righteousness; make me free from my troubles; have mercy on me, and give ear to my prayer.
1 Ouve-me quando eu clamo, ó Deus da minha justiça; na angústia me deste largueza; tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.
2 O you sons of men, how long will you go on turning my glory into shame? how long will you give your love to foolish things, going after what is false? (Selah.)
2 Filhos dos homens, até quando convertereis a minha glória em infâmia? Até quando amareis a vaidade e buscareis a mentira? (Selá)
3 See how the Lord has made great his mercy for me; the Lord will give ear to my cry.
3 Sabei, pois, que o SENHOR separou para si aquele que lhe é querido; o SENHOR ouvirá quando eu clamar a ele.
4 Let there be fear in your hearts, and do no sin; have bitter feelings on your bed, but make no sound. (Selah.)
4 Perturbai-vos e não pequeis; falai com o vosso coração sobre a vossa cama e calai-vos. (Selá)
5 Give the offerings of righteousness, and put your faith in the Lord.
5 Oferecei sacrifícios de justiça e confiai no SENHOR.
6 There are numbers who say, Who will do us any good? the light of his face has gone from us.
6 Muitos dizem: Quem nos mostrará o bem? SENHOR, exalta sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.
7 Lord, you have put joy in my heart, more than they have when their grain and their wine are increased.
7 Puseste alegria no meu coração, mais do que no tempo em que se multiplicaram o seu trigo e o seu vinho.
8 I will take my rest on my bed in peace, because you only, Lord, keep me safe.
8 Em paz também me deitarei e dormirei, porque só tu, SENHOR, me fazes habitar em segurança.
Psalms 5
1 Give ear to my words, O Lord; give thought to my heart-searchings.
1 Dá ouvidos às minhas palavras, ó SENHOR; atende à minha meditação.
2 Let the voice of my cry come to you, my King and my God; for to you will I make my prayer.
2 Atende à voz do meu clamor, Rei meu e Deus meu, pois a ti orarei.
3 My voice will come to you in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I send my prayer to you, and keep watch.
3 Pela manhã, ouvirás a minha voz, ó SENHOR; pela manhã, me apresentarei a ti, e vigiarei.
4 For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wrongdoing; there is no evil with you.
4 Porque tu não és um Deus que tenha prazer na iniqüidade, nem contigo habitará o mal.
5 The sons of pride have no place before you; you are a hater of all workers of evil.
5 Os loucos não pararão à tua vista; aborreces a todos os que praticam a maldade.
6 You will send destruction on those whose words are false; the cruel man and the man of deceit are hated by the Lord.
6 Destruirás aqueles que proferem a mentira; o SENHOR aborrecerá o homem sanguinário e fraudulento.
7 But as for me, I will come into your house, in the full measure of your mercy; and in your fear I will give worship, turning my eyes to your holy Temple.
7 Mas eu entrarei em tua casa pela grandeza da tua benignidade; e em teu temor me inclinarei para o teu santo templo.
8 Be my guide, O Lord, in the ways of your righteousness, because of those who are against me; make your way straight before my face.
8 SENHOR, guia-me na tua justiça, por causa dos meus inimigos; aplana diante de mim o teu caminho.
9 For no faith may be put in their words; their inner part is nothing but evil; their throat is like an open place for the dead; smooth are the words of their tongues.
9 Porque não há retidão na boca deles; o seu íntimo são verdadeiras maldades; a sua garganta é um sepulcro aberto; lisonjeiam com a sua língua.
10 Send them to destruction, O Lord; let their evil designs be the cause of their fall; let them be forced out by all their sins; because they have gone against your authority.
10 Declara-os culpados, ó Deus; caiam por seus próprios conselhos; lança-os fora por causa da multidão de suas transgressões, pois se revoltaram contra ti.
11 But let all those who put their faith in you be glad with cries of joy at all times, and let all the lovers of your name be glad in you.
11 Mas alegrem-se todos os que confiam em ti; exultem eternamente, porquanto tu os defendes; e em ti se gloriem os que amam o teu nome.
12 For you, Lord, will send a blessing on the upright man; your grace will be round him, and you will be his strength.
12 Pois tu, SENHOR, abençoarás ao justo; circundá-lo-ás da tua benevolência como de um escudo.
Psalms 6
1 O Lord, do not be bitter with me in your wrath; do not send punishment on me in the heat of your passion.
1 SENHOR, não me repreendas na tua ira, nem me castigues no teu furor.
2 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am wasted away: make me well, for even my bones are troubled.
2 Tem misericórdia de mim, SENHOR, porque sou fraco; sara-me, SENHOR, porque os meus ossos estão perturbados.
3 My soul is in bitter trouble; and you, O Lord, how long?
3 Até a minha alma está perturbada; mas tu, SENHOR, até quando?
4 Come back, O Lord, make my soul free; O give me salvation because of your mercy.
4 Volta-te, SENHOR, livra a minha alma; salva-me por tua benignidade.
5 For in death there is no memory of you; in the underworld who will give you praise?
5 Porque na morte não há lembrança de ti; no sepulcro quem te louvará?
6 The voice of my sorrow is a weariness to me; all the night I make my bed wet with weeping; it is watered by the drops flowing from my eyes.
6 Já estou cansado do meu gemido; toda noite faço nadar a minha cama; molho o meu leito com as minhas lágrimas.
7 My eyes are wasting away with trouble; they are becoming old because of all those who are against me.
7 Já os meus olhos estão consumidos pela mágoa e têm envelhecido por causa de todos os meus inimigos.
8 Go from me, all you workers of evil; for the Lord has given ear to the voice of my weeping.
8 Apartai-vos de mim todos os que praticais a iniqüidade; porque o SENHOR já ouviu a voz do meu lamento.
9 The Lord has given ear to my request; the Lord has let my prayer come before him.
9 O SENHOR já ouviu a minha súplica; o SENHOR aceitará a minha oração.
10 Let all those who are against me be shamed and deeply troubled; let them be turned back and suddenly put to shame.
10 Envergonhem-se e perturbem-se todos os meus inimigos; tornem atrás e envergonhem-se num momento.
Psalms 7
1 O Lord my God, I put my faith in you; take me out of the hands of him who is cruel to me, and make me free;
1 SENHOR, meu Deus, em ti confio; salva-me de todos os que me perseguem e livra-me;
2 So that he may not come rushing on my soul like a lion, wounding it, while there is no one to be my saviour.
2 para que ele não arrebate a minha alma, como leão, despedaçando-a, sem que haja quem a livre;
3 O Lord my God, if I have done this; if my hands have done any wrong;
3 SENHOR, meu Deus, se eu fiz isto, se há perversidade nas minhas mãos,
4 If I have given back evil to him who did evil to me, or have taken anything from him who was against me without cause;
4 se paguei com o mal àquele que tinha paz comigo (antes, livrei ao que me oprimia sem causa);
5 Let my hater go after my soul and take it; let my life be crushed to the earth, and my honour into the dust. (Selah.)
5 persiga o inimigo a minha alma e alcance-a; calque aos pés a minha vida sobre a terra e reduza a pó a minha glória. (Selá)
6 Come up, Lord, in your wrath; be lifted up against my haters; be awake, my God, give orders for the judging.
6 Levanta-te, SENHOR, na tua ira; exalta-te por causa do furor dos meus opressores; e desperta por mim, para o juízo que ordenaste.
7 The meeting of the nations will be round you; take your seat, then, over them, on high.
7 Assim, te rodeará o ajuntamento de povos; por causa deles, pois, volta às alturas.
8 The Lord will be judge of the peoples; give a decision for me, O Lord, because of my righteousness, and let my virtue have its reward.
8 O SENHOR julgará os povos; julga-me, SENHOR, conforme a minha justiça e conforme a integridade que há em mim.
9 O let the evil of the evil-doer come to an end, but give strength to the upright: for men’s minds and hearts are tested by the God of righteousness.
9 Tenha já fim a malícia dos ímpios, mas estabeleça-se o justo; pois tu, ó justo Deus, provas o coração e a mente.
10 God, who is the saviour of the upright in heart, is my breastplate.
10 O meu escudo está com Deus, que salva os retos de coração.
11 God is the judge of the upright, and is angry with the evil-doers every day.
11 Deus é um juiz justo, um Deus que se ira todos os dias.
12 If a man is not turned from his evil, he will make his sword sharp; his bow is bent and ready.
12 Se o homem se não converter, Deus afiará a sua espada; já tem armado o seu arco e está aparelhado;
13 He has made ready for him the instruments of death; he makes his arrows flames of fire.
13 e já para ele preparou armas mortais; e porá em ação as suas setas inflamadas contra os perseguidores.
14 That man is a worker of evil; the seed of wrongdoing has given birth to deceit.
14 Eis que esse está com dores de perversidade; concebeu trabalhos e produzirá mentiras.
15 He has made a hole deep in the earth, and is falling into the hole which he has made
15 Cavou um poço, e o fez fundo, e caiu na cova que fez.
16 His wrongdoing will come back to him, and his violent behaviour will come down on his head.
16 A sua obra cairá sobre a sua cabeça; e a sua violência descerá sobre a sua mioleira.
17 I will give praise to the Lord for his righteousness; I will make a song to the name of the Lord Most High.
17 Eu louvarei ao SENHOR segundo a sua justiça e cantarei louvores ao nome do SENHOR Altíssimo.
Psalms 8
1 O Lord, our Lord, whose glory is higher than the heavens, how noble is your name in all the earth!
1 Ó SENHOR, Senhor nosso, quão admirável é o teu nome em toda a terra, pois puseste a tua glória sobre os céus!
2 You have made clear your strength even out of the mouths of babies at the breast, because of those who are against you; so that you may put to shame the cruel and violent man.
2 Da boca das crianças e dos que mamam tu suscitaste força, por causa dos teus adversários, para fazeres calar o inimigo e vingativo.
3 When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have put in their places;
3 Quando vejo os teus céus, obra dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que preparaste;
4 What is man, that you keep him in mind? the son of man, that you take him into account?
4 que é o homem mortal para que te lembres dele? E o filho do homem, para que o visites?
5 For you have made him only a little lower than the gods, crowning him with glory and honour.
5 Contudo, pouco menor o fizeste do que os anjos e de glória e de honra o coroaste.
6 You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet;
6 Fazes com que ele tenha domínio sobre as obras das tuas mãos; tudo puseste debaixo de seus pés:
7 All sheep and oxen, and all the beasts of the field;
7 todas as ovelhas e bois, assim como os animais do campo;
8 The birds of the air and the fish of the sea, and whatever goes through the deep waters of the seas.
8 as aves dos céus, e os peixes do mar, e tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.
9 O Lord, our Lord, how noble is your name in all the earth!
9 Ó SENHOR, Senhor nosso, quão admirável é o teu nome sobre toda a terra!
Psalms 9
1 I will give you praise, O Lord, with all my heart; I will make clear all the wonder of your works.
1 Eu te louvarei, SENHOR, de todo o meu coração; contarei todas as tuas maravilhas.
2 I will be glad and have delight in you: I will make a song of praise to your name, O Most High.
2 Em ti me alegrarei e saltarei de prazer; cantarei louvores ao teu nome, ó Altíssimo.
3 When my haters are turned back, they will be broken and overcome before you.
3 Porquanto os meus inimigos retrocederam e caíram; e pereceram diante da tua face.
4 For you gave approval to my right and my cause; you were seated in your high place judging in righteousness.
4 Pois tu tens sustentado o meu direito e a minha causa; tu te assentaste no tribunal, julgando justamente.
5 You have said sharp words to the nations, you have sent destruction on the sinners, you have put an end to their name for ever and ever.
5 Repreendeste as nações, destruíste os ímpios, apagaste o seu nome para sempre e eternamente.
6 You have given their towns to destruction; the memory of them has gone; they have become waste for ever.
6 Oh! Inimigo! Consumaram-se as assolações; —tu arrasaste as cidades, e a sua memória pereceu com elas.
7 But the Lord is King for ever: he has made ready his high seat for judging.
7 Mas o SENHOR está assentado perpetuamente; já preparou o seu tribunal para julgar.
8 And he will be the judge of the world in righteousness, giving true decisions for the peoples.
8 Ele mesmo julgará o mundo com justiça; julgará os povos com retidão.
9 The Lord will be a high tower for those who are crushed down, a high tower in times of trouble;
9 O SENHOR será também um alto refúgio para o oprimido; um alto refúgio em tempos de angústia.
10 And those who have knowledge of your name will put their faith in you; because you, Lord, have ever given your help to those who were waiting for you.
10 E em ti confiarão os que conhecem o teu nome; porque tu, SENHOR, nunca desamparaste os que te buscam.
11 Make songs of praise to the Lord, whose house is in Zion: make his doings clear to the people.
11 Cantai louvores ao SENHOR, que habita em Sião; anunciai entre os povos os seus feitos,
12 When he makes search for blood, he has them in his memory: he is not without thought for the cry of the poor.
12 pois inquire do derramamento de sangue e lembra-se dele; não se esquece do clamor dos aflitos.
13 Have mercy on me, O Lord, and see how I am troubled by my haters; let me be lifted up from the doors of death;
13 Tem misericórdia de mim, SENHOR; vê como me fazem sofrer aqueles que me aborrecem, tu que me levantas das portas da morte;
14 So that I may make clear all your praise in the house of the daughter of Zion: I will be glad because of your salvation.
14 para que eu conte todos os teus louvores às portas da filha de Sião e me alegre na tua salvação.
15 The nations have gone down into the hole which they made: in their secret net is their foot taken.
15 As nações precipitaram-se na cova que abriram; na rede que ocultaram ficou preso o seu pé.
16 The Lord has given knowledge of himself through his judging: the evil-doer is taken in the net which his hands had made. (Higgaion. Selah.)
16 O SENHOR é conhecido pelo juízo que fez; enlaçado ficou o ímpio nos seus próprios feitos. (Higaiom; Selá)
17 The sinners and all the nations who have no memory of God will be turned into the underworld.
17 Os ímpios serão lançados no inferno e todas as nações que se esquecem de Deus.
18 For the poor will not be without help; the hopes of those in need will not be crushed for ever.
18 Porque o necessitado não será esquecido para sempre, nem a expectação dos pobres se malogrará perpetuamente.
19 Up! O Lord; let not man overcome you: let the nations be judged before you.
19 Levanta-te, SENHOR! Não prevaleça o homem; sejam julgadas as nações perante a tua face.
20 Put them in fear, O Lord, so that the nations may see that they are only men. (Selah.)
20 Tu os pões em medo, SENHOR, para que saibam as nações que são constituídas por meros homens. (Selá)
Psalms 10
1 Why do you keep far away, O Lord? why are you not to be seen in times of trouble?
1 Por que te conservas longe, SENHOR? Por que te escondes nos tempos de angústia?
2 The evil-doer in his pride is cruel to the poor; let him be taken by the tricks of his invention.
2 Os ímpios, na sua arrogância, perseguem furiosamente o pobre; sejam apanhados nas ciladas que maquinaram.
3 For the evil-doer is lifted up because of the purpose of his heart, and he whose mind is fixed on wealth is turned away from the Lord, saying evil against him.
3 Porque o ímpio gloria-se do desejo da sua alma, bendiz ao avarento e blasfema do SENHOR.
4 The evil-doer in his pride says, God will not make a search. All his thoughts are, There is no God.
4 Por causa do seu orgulho, o ímpio não investiga; todas as suas cogitações são: Não há Deus.
5 His ways are ever fixed; your decisions are higher than he may see: as for his haters, they are as nothing to him.
5 Os seus caminhos são sempre atormentadores; os teus juízos estão longe dele, em grande altura; trata com desprezo os seus adversários.
6 He has said in his heart, I will not be moved: through all generations I will never be in trouble.
6 Diz em seu coração: Não serei abalado, porque nunca me verei na adversidade.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and false words: under his tongue are evil purposes and dark thoughts.
7 A sua boca está cheia de imprecações, de enganos e de astúcia; debaixo da sua língua há malícia e maldade.
8 He is waiting in the dark places of the towns: in the secret places he puts to death those who have done no wrong: his eyes are secretly turned against the poor.
8 Põe-se nos cerrados das aldeias; nos lugares ocultos mata o inocente; os seus olhos estão ocultamente fixos sobre o pobre.
9 He keeps himself in a secret place like a lion in his hole, waiting to put his hands on the poor man, and pulling him into his net.
9 Arma ciladas em esconderijos, como o leão no seu covil; arma ciladas para roubar o pobre; rouba-o colhendo-o na sua rede.
10 The upright are crushed and made low, and the feeble are overcome by his strong ones.
10 Encolhe-se, abaixa-se, para que os pobres caiam em suas fortes garras.
11 He says in his heart, God has no memory of me: his face is turned away; he will never see it.
11 Diz em seu coração: Deus esqueceu-se; cobriu o seu rosto e nunca verá isto.
12 Up! O Lord; let your hand be lifted: give thought to the poor.
12 Levanta-te, SENHOR! Ó Deus, levanta a tua mão; não te esqueças dos necessitados!
13 Why has the evil-doer a low opinion of God, saying in his heart, You will not make search for it?
13 Por que blasfema de Deus o ímpio, dizendo no seu coração que tu não inquirirás?
14 You have seen it; for your eyes are on sorrow and grief, to take it into your hand: the poor man puts his faith in you; you have been the helper of the child who has no father.
14 Tu o viste, porque atentas para o trabalho e enfado, para os tomares sob tuas mãos; a ti o pobre se encomenda; tu és o auxílio do órfão.
15 Let the arm of the sinner and the evil-doer be broken; go on searching for his sin till there is no more.
15 Quebranta o braço do ímpio e malvado; busca a sua impiedade até nada mais achares dela.
16 The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations are gone from his land.
16 O SENHOR é Rei eterno; da sua terra serão desarraigados os gentios.
17 Lord, you have given ear to the prayer of the poor: you will make strong their hearts, you will give them a hearing:
17 SENHOR, tu ouviste os desejos dos mansos; confortarás o seu coração; os teus ouvidos estarão abertos para eles;
18 To give decision for the child without a father and for the broken-hearted, so that the man of the earth may no longer be feared.
18 para fazeres justiça ao órfão e ao oprimido, a fim de que o homem, que é da terra, não prossiga mais em usar da violência.
Psalms 11
1 In the Lord put I my faith; how will you say to my soul, Go in flight like a bird to the mountain?
1 No SENHOR confio; como dizeis, pois, à minha alma: Foge para a tua montanha como pássaro?
2 See, the bows of the evil-doers are bent, they make ready their arrows on the cord, so that they may send them secretly against the upright in heart.
2 Porque eis que os ímpios armam o arco, põem as flechas na corda, para com elas atirarem, às ocultas, aos retos de coração.
3 If the bases are broken down, what is the upright man to do?
3 Na verdade, que já os fundamentos se transtornam; que pode fazer o justo?
4 The Lord is in his holy Temple, the Lord’s seat is in heaven; his eyes are watching and testing the children of men.
4 O SENHOR está no seu santo templo; o trono do SENHOR está nos céus; os seus olhos estão atentos, e as suas pálpebras provam os filhos dos homens.
5 The Lord puts the upright and the sinner to the test, but he has hate in his soul for the lover of violent acts.
5 O SENHOR prova o justo, mas a sua alma aborrece o ímpio e o que ama a violência.
6 On the evil-doer he will send down fire and flames, and a burning wind; with these will their cup be full.
6 Sobre os ímpios fará chover laços, fogo, enxofre e vento tempestuoso; eis a porção do seu copo.
7 For the Lord is upright; he is a lover of righteousness: the upright will see his face.

5 Because of the crushing of the poor and the weeping of those in need, now will I come to his help, says the Lord; I will give him the salvation which he is desiring.

6 The words of the Lord are true words: like silver tested by fire and burned clean seven times.

2 How long is my soul to be in doubt, with sorrow in my heart all the day? how long will he who is against me be given power over me?

3 Let my voice come before you, and give me an answer, O Lord my God; let your light be shining on me, so that the sleep of death may not overtake me;

4 And he who is against me may not say, I have overcome him; and those who are troubling me may not be glad when I am moved.

5 But I have had faith in your mercy; my heart will be glad in your salvation.

Psalms 14
1 The foolish man has said in his heart, God will not do anything. They are unclean, they have done evil works; there is not one who does good.
1 Disseram os néscios no seu coração: Não há Deus. Têm-se corrompido, fazem-se abomináveis em suas obras, não há ninguém que faça o bem.
2 The Lord was looking down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who had wisdom, searching after God.
2 O SENHOR olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.
3 They have all gone out of the way together; they are unclean, there is not one who does good, no, not one.
3 Desviaram-se todos e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não há sequer um.
4 Have all the workers of evil no knowledge? they take my people for food as they would take bread; they make no prayer to the Lord.
4 Não terão conhecimento os obreiros da iniqüidade, que comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? Eles não invocam ao SENHOR.
5 Then were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the upright.
5 Ali se acharam em grande pavor, porque Deus está na geração dos justos.
6 You have put to shame the thoughts of the poor, but the Lord is his support.
6 Vós envergonhais o conselho dos pobres, porquanto o SENHOR é o seu refúgio.
7 May the salvation of Israel come out of Zion! when the fate of his people is changed by the Lord, Jacob will have joy and Israel will be glad.

Psalms 15
1 Lord, who may have a resting-place in your tent, a living-place on your holy hill?
1 SENHOR, quem habitará no teu tabernáculo? Quem morará no teu santo monte?
2 He who goes on his way uprightly, doing righteousness, and saying what is true in his heart;
2 Aquele que anda em sinceridade, e pratica a justiça, e fala verazmente segundo o seu coração;
3 Whose tongue is not false, who does no evil to his friend, and does not take away the good name of his neighbour;
3 aquele que não difama com a sua língua, nem faz mal ao seu próximo, nem aceita nenhuma afronta contra o seu próximo;
4 Who gives honour to those who have the fear of the Lord, turning away from him who has not the Lord’s approval. He who takes an oath against himself, and makes no change.
4 aquele a cujos olhos o réprobo é desprezado; mas honra os que temem ao SENHOR; aquele que, mesmo que jure com dano seu, não muda.
5 He who does not put out his money at interest, or for payment give false decisions against men who have done no wrong. He who does these things will never be moved.
5 Aquele que não empresta o seu dinheiro com usura, nem recebe subornos contra o inocente; quem faz isto nunca será abalado.
Psalms 16
1 Keep me safe, O God: for in you I have put my faith.
1 Guarda-me, ó Deus, porque em ti confio.
2 O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you.
2 A minha alma disse ao SENHOR: Tu és o meu Senhor; não tenho outro bem além de ti.
3 As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the noble in whom is all my delight.
3 Digo aos santos que estão na terra e aos ilustres em quem está todo o meu prazer:
4 Their sorrows will be increased who go after another god: I will not take drink offerings from their hands, or take their names on my lips.
4 As dores se multiplicarão àqueles que fazem oferendas a outro deus; eu não oferecerei as suas libações de sangue, nem tomarei o seu nome nos meus lábios.
5 The Lord is my heritage and the wine of my cup; you are the supporter of my right.

6 Fair are the places marked out for me; I have a noble heritage.

9 Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy: while my flesh takes its rest in hope.

10 For you will not let my soul be prisoned in the underworld; you will not let your loved one see the place of death.

11 You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever.

Psalms 17
1 Let my cause come to your ears, O Lord, give attention to my cry; give ear to my prayer which goes not out from false lips.

2 Be my judge; for your eyes see what is right.

1 I will give you my love, O Lord, my strength.

2 The Lord is my Rock, my walled town, and my saviour; my God, my Rock, in him will I put my faith; my breastplate, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

12 Before his shining light his dark clouds went past, raining ice and fire.

14 He sent out his arrows, driving them in all directions; by his flames of fire they were troubled.

15 Then the deep beds of the waters were seen, and the bases of the world were uncovered, because of your words of wrath, O Lord, because of the breath from your mouth.
15 Então, foram vistas as profundezas das águas, e foram descobertos os fundamentos do mundo; pela tua repreensão, SENHOR, ao soprar das tuas narinas.
16 He sent from on high, he took me, pulling me out of great waters.
16 Enviou desde o alto e me tomou; tirou-me das muitas águas.
17 He made me free from my strong hater, and from those who were against me, because they were stronger than I.
17 Livrou-me do meu inimigo forte e dos que me aborreciam, pois eram mais poderosos do que eu.
18 They came on me in the day of my trouble; but the Lord was my support.
18 Surpreenderam-me no dia da minha calamidade; mas o SENHOR foi o meu amparo.
19 He took me out into a wide place; he was my saviour because he had delight in me.
19 Trouxe-me para um lugar espaçoso; livrou-me, porque tinha prazer em mim.
20 The Lord gives me the reward of my righteousness, because my hands are clean before him.
20 Recompensou-me o SENHOR conforme a minha justiça e retribuiu-me conforme a pureza das minhas mãos.
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord; I have not been turned away in sin from my God.
21 Porque guardei os caminhos do SENHOR e não me apartei impiamente do meu Deus.
22 For all his decisions were before me, and I did not put away his laws from me.
22 Porque todos os seus juízos estavam diante de mim, e não rejeitei os seus estatutos.
23 And I was upright before him, and I kept myself from sin.

24 Because of this the Lord has given me the reward of my righteousness, because my hands are clean in his eyes.

25 On him who has mercy you will have mercy; to the upright you will be upright;

26 He who is holy will see that you are holy; but to the man whose way is not straight you will be a hard judge.

27 For you are the saviour of those who are in trouble; but eyes full of pride will be made low.

31 For who is God but the Lord? or who is a Rock but our God?

32 God puts a strong band about me, guiding me in a straight way.

36 You have made my steps wide under me, so that my feet are kept from slipping.

43 You have made me free from the fightings of the people; you have made me the head of the nations: a people of whom I had no knowledge will be my servants.

44 From the time when my name comes to their ears they will be ruled by me: men of other countries will, with false hearts, put themselves under my authority.

1 The heavens are sounding the glory of God; the arch of the sky makes clear the work of his hands.

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, and has no end; the decisions of the Lord are true and full of righteousness.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, even than much shining gold; sweeter than the dropping honey.

11 By them is your servant made conscious of danger, and in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who has full knowledge of his errors? make me clean from secret evil.
12 Quem pode entender os próprios erros? Expurga-me tu dos que me são ocultos.
13 Keep your servant back from sins of pride; let them not have rule over me: then will I be upright and free from great sin.
13 Também da soberba guarda o teu servo, para que se não assenhoreie de mim; então, serei sincero e ficarei limpo de grande transgressão.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing in your eyes, O Lord, my strength and my salvation.
14 Sejam agradáveis as palavras da minha boca e a meditação do meu coração perante a tua face, SENHOR, rocha minha e libertador meu!
Psalms 20
1 May the Lord give ear to you in the day of trouble; may you be placed on high by the name of the God of Jacob;
1 O SENHOR te ouça no dia da angústia; o nome do Deus de Jacó te proteja.
2 May he send you help from the holy place, and give you strength from Zion;

4 Vida te pediu, e lha deste, mesmo longura de dias para sempre e eternamente.
5 His glory is great in your salvation: honour and authority have you put on him.

6 For you have made him a blessing for ever: you have given him joy in the light of your face.

7 For the king has faith in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Most High he will not be moved.

8 Your hand will make a search for all your haters; your right hand will be hard on all those who are against you.
8 A tua mão alcançará todos os teus inimigos; a tua mão direita alcançará aqueles que te aborrecem.
9 You will make them like a flaming oven before you; the Lord in his wrath will put an end to them, and they will be burned up in the fire.
9 Tu os farás como um forno aceso quando te manifestares; o SENHOR os devorará na sua indignação, e o fogo os consumirá.
10 Their fruit will be cut off from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
10 Seu fruto destruirás da terra e a sua descendência, dentre os filhos dos homens.
11 For their thoughts were bitter against you: they had an evil design in their minds, which they were not able to put into effect.
11 Porque intentaram o mal contra ti; maquinaram um ardil, mas não prevalecerão.
12 Their backs will be turned when you make ready the cords of your bow against their faces.
12 Portanto, tu lhes farás voltar as costas; e com tuas flechas postas nas cordas lhes apontarás ao rosto.
13 Be lifted up, O Lord, in your strength; so will we make songs in praise of your power.

1 My God, my God, why are you turned away from me? why are you so far from helping me, and from the words of my crying?

2 O my God, I make my cry in the day, and you give no answer; and in the night, and have no rest.

7 I am laughed at by all those who see me: pushing out their lips and shaking their heads they say,

8 He put his faith in the Lord; let the Lord be his saviour now: let the Lord be his saviour, because he had delight in him.

9 But it was you who took care of me from the day of my birth: you gave me faith even from my mother’s breasts.

10 I was in your hands even before my birth; you are my God from the time when I was in my mother’s body.
10 Sobre ti fui lançado desde a madre; tu és o meu Deus desde o ventre de minha mãe.
11 Be not far from me, for trouble is near; there is no one to give help.
11 Não te alongues de mim, pois a angústia está perto, e não há quem ajude.
12 A great herd of oxen is round me: I am shut in by the strong oxen of Bashan.
12 Muitos touros me cercaram; fortes touros de Basã me rodearam.
13 I saw their mouths wide open, like lions crying after food.
13 Abriram contra mim suas bocas, como um leão que despedaça e que ruge.
14 I am flowing away like water, and all my bones are out of place: my heart is like wax, it has become soft in my body.
14 Como água me derramei, e todos os meus ossos se desconjuntaram; o meu coração é como cera e derreteu-se dentro de mim.
15 My throat is dry like a broken vessel; my tongue is fixed to the roof of my mouth, and the dust of death is on my lips.
15 A minha força se secou como um caco, e a língua se me pega ao paladar; e me puseste no pó da morte.
16 Dogs have come round me: I am shut in by the band of evil-doers; they made wounds in my hands and feet.

17 I am able to see all my bones; their looks are fixed on me:

18 They make a division of my robes among them, by the decision of chance they take my clothing.

19 Do not be far from me, O Lord: O my strength, come quickly to my help.

20 Make my soul safe from the sword, my life from the power of the dog.

21 Be my saviour from the lion’s mouth; let me go free from the horns of the cruel oxen.

22 I will give the knowledge of your name to my brothers: I will give you praise among the people.

24 For he has not been unmoved by the pain of him who is troubled; or kept his face covered from him; but he has given an answer to his cry.

25 My praise will be of you in the great meeting: I will make my offerings before his worshippers.

28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s; he is the ruler among the nations.

29 All the fat ones of the earth will give him worship; all those who go down to the dust will make themselves low before him, even he who has not enough for the life of his soul.
29 Todos os grandes da terra comerão e adorarão, e todos os que descem ao pó se prostrarão perante ele; como também os que não podem reter a sua vida.
30 A seed will be his servant; the doings of the Lord will be made clear to the generation which comes after.
30 Uma semente o servirá; falará do Senhor de geração em geração.
31 They will come and make his righteousness clear to a people of the future because he has done this.
31 Chegarão e anunciarão a sua justiça ao povo que nascer, porquanto ele o fez.
Psalms 23
1 The Lord takes care of me as his sheep; I will not be without any good thing.

2 He makes a resting-place for me in the green fields: he is my guide by the quiet waters.

3 He gives new life to my soul: he is my guide in the ways of righteousness because of his name.

1 The earth is the Lord’s, with all its wealth; the world and all the people living in it.

2 For by him it was based on the seas, and made strong on the deep rivers.
2 Porque ele a fundou sobre os mares e a firmou sobre os rios.
3 Who may go up into the hill of the Lord? and who may come into his holy place?

4 He who has clean hands and a true heart; whose desire has not gone out to foolish things, who has not taken a false oath.

5 He will have blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

9 He will be an upright guide to the poor in spirit: he will make his way clear to them.

2 When evil-doers, even my haters, came on me to put an end to me, they were broken and put to shame.

3 Even if an army came against me with its tents, my heart would have no fear: if war was made on me, my faith would not be moved.
3 Ainda que um exército me cercasse, o meu coração não temeria; ainda que a guerra se levantasse contra mim, nele confiaria.
4 One prayer have I made to the Lord, and this is my heart’s desire; that I may have a place in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, looking on his glory, and getting wisdom in his Temple.
4 Uma coisa pedi ao SENHOR e a buscarei: que possa morar na Casa do SENHOR todos os dias da minha vida, para contemplar a formosura do SENHOR e aprender no seu templo.
5 For in the time of trouble he will keep me safe in his tent: in the secret place of his tent he will keep me from men’s eyes; high on a rock he will put me.
5 Porque no dia da adversidade me esconderá no seu pavilhão; no oculto do seu tabernáculo me esconderá; pôr-me-á sobre uma rocha.
6 And now my head will be lifted up higher than my haters who are round me: because of this I will make offerings of joy in his tent; I will make a song, truly I will make a song of praise to the Lord.
6 Também a minha cabeça será exaltada sobre os meus inimigos que estão ao redor de mim; pelo que oferecerei sacrifício de júbilo no seu tabernáculo; cantarei, sim, cantarei louvores ao SENHOR.
7 O Lord, let the voice of my cry come to your ears: have mercy on me, and give me an answer.
7 Ouve, SENHOR, a minha voz quando clamo; tem também piedade de mim e responde-me.
8 When you said, Make search for my face, my heart said to you, For your face will I make my search.
8 Quando tu disseste: Buscai o meu rosto, o meu coração te disse a ti: O teu rosto, SENHOR, buscarei.
9 Let not your face be covered from me; do not put away your servant in wrath; you have been my help: do not give me up or take your support from me, O God of my salvation.
9 Não escondas de mim a tua face e não rejeites ao teu servo com ira; tu foste a minha ajuda; não me deixes, nem me desampares, ó Deus da minha salvação.
10 When my father and my mother are turned away from me, then the Lord will be my support.
10 Porque, quando meu pai e minha mãe me desampararem, o SENHOR me recolherá.
11 Make your way clear to me, O Lord, guiding me by the right way, because of my haters.
11 Ensina-me, SENHOR, o teu caminho e guia-me pela vereda direita, por causa dos que me andam espiando.
12 Do not give me into their hands, because false witnesses have come out against me, and men breathing destruction.
12 Não me entregues à vontade dos meus adversários, pois se levantaram falsas testemunhas contra mim, e os que respiram crueldade.
13 I had almost given up my hope of seeing the blessing of the Lord in the land of the living.
13 Pereceria sem dúvida, se não cresse que veria os bens do SENHOR na terra dos viventes.
14 Let your hope be in the Lord: take heart and be strong; yes, let your hope be in the Lord.
14 Espera no SENHOR, anima-te, e ele fortalecerá o teu coração; espera, pois, no SENHOR.
Psalms 28
1 My cry goes up to you, O Lord, my Rock; do not keep back your answer from me, so that I may not become like those who go down into the underworld.
1 A ti clamarei, ó SENHOR, rocha minha; não emudeças para comigo; não suceda, calando-te tu a meu respeito, que eu me torne semelhante aos que descem à cova.
2 Give ear to the voice of my prayer, when I am crying to you, when my hands are lifted up to your holy place.
2 Ouve a voz das minhas súplicas, quando a ti clamar, quando levantar as minhas mãos para o oráculo do teu santuário.
3 Do not take me away with the sinners and the workers of evil, who say words of peace to their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts.
3 Não me arremesses com os ímpios e com os que praticam a iniqüidade; que falam de paz ao seu próximo, mas têm o mal no seu coração.
4 Give them the right reward of their acts, and of their evil doings: give them punishment for the works of their hands, let them have their full reward.
4 Retribui-lhes segundo as suas obras e segundo a malícia dos seus esforços; dá-lhes conforme a obra das suas mãos; envia-lhes a sua recompensa.
5 Because they have no respect for the works of the Lord, or for the things which his hands have made, they will be broken down and not lifted up by him.
5 Porquanto não atentam para as obras do SENHOR, nem para o que as suas mãos têm feito; pelo que ele os derribará e não os reedificará.
6 May the Lord be praised, because he has given ear to the voice of my prayer.
6 Bendito seja o SENHOR, porque ouviu a voz das minhas súplicas.
7 The Lord is my strength and my breastplate, my heart had faith in him and I am helped; for this cause my heart is full of rapture, and I will give him praise in my song.
7 O SENHOR é a minha força e o meu escudo; nele confiou o meu coração, e fui socorrido; pelo que o meu coração salta de prazer, e com o meu canto o louvarei.
8 The Lord is their strength, and a strong place of salvation for his king.

9 Be a saviour to your people, and send a blessing on your heritage: be their guide, and let them be lifted up for ever.

7 At the voice of the Lord flames of fire are seen.
7 A voz do SENHOR separa as labaredas do fogo.
8 At the voice of the Lord there is a shaking in the waste land, even a shaking in the waste land of Kadesh.
8 A voz do SENHOR faz tremer o deserto; o SENHOR faz tremer o deserto de Cades.
9 At the voice of the Lord the roes give birth, the leaves are taken from the trees: in his Temple everything says, Glory.

7 Lord, by your grace you have kept my mountain strong: when your face was turned from me I was troubled.

10 Give ear to me, O Lord, and have mercy on me: Lord, be my helper.

11 By you my sorrow is turned into dancing; you have taken away my clothing of grief, and given me robes of joy;
11 Tornaste o meu pranto em folguedo; tiraste o meu cilício e me cingiste de alegria;
12 So that my glory may make songs of praise to you and not be quiet. O Lord my God, I will give you praise for ever.

Psalms 31
1 In you, O Lord, have I put my hope; let me never be shamed; keep me safe in your righteousness.

2 Let your ear be turned to me; take me quickly out of danger; be my strong Rock, my place of strength where I may be safe.
2 Inclina para mim os teus ouvidos, livra-me depressa; sê a minha firme rocha, uma casa fortíssima que me salve.
3 For you are my Rock and my strong tower; go in front of me and be my guide, because of your name.
3 Porque tu és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza; pelo que, por amor do teu nome, guia-me e encaminha-me.
4 Take me out of the net which they have put ready for me secretly; for you are my strength.
4 Tira-me da rede que para mim esconderam, pois tu és a minha força.
5 Into your hands I give my spirit; you are my saviour, O Lord God for ever true.
5 Nas tuas mãos encomendo o meu espírito; tu me remiste, SENHOR, Deus da verdade.
6 I am full of hate for those who go after false gods; but my hope is in the Lord.
6 Aborreço aqueles que se entregam a vaidades enganosas; eu, porém, confio no SENHOR.
7 I will be glad and have delight in your mercy; because you have seen my trouble; you have had pity on my soul in its sorrows;
7 Eu me alegrarei e regozijarei na tua benignidade, pois consideraste a minha aflição; conheceste a minha alma nas angústias.
8 And you have not given me into the hand of my hater; you have put my feet in a wide place.
8 E não me entregaste nas mãos do inimigo; puseste os meus pés num lugar espaçoso.
9 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; my eyes are wasted with grief, I am wasted in soul and body.
9 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó SENHOR, porque estou angustiado; consumidos estão de tristeza os meus olhos, a minha alma e o meu corpo.
10 My life goes on in sorrow, and my years in weeping; my strength is almost gone because of my sin, and my bones are wasted away.
10 Porque a minha vida está gasta de tristeza, e os meus anos, de suspiros; a minha força descai por causa da minha iniqüidade, e os meus ossos se consomem.
11 Because of all those who are against me, I have become a word of shame to my neighbours; a cause of shaking the head and a fear to my friends: those who saw me in the street went in flight from me.
11 Por causa de todos os meus inimigos, fui o opróbrio dos meus vizinhos e um horror para os meus conhecidos; os que me viam na rua fugiam de mim.
12 I have gone from men’s minds and memory like a dead man; I am like a broken vessel.
12 Estou esquecido no coração deles, como um morto; sou como um vaso quebrado.
13 False statements against me have come to my ears; fear was on every side: they were talking together against me, designing to take away my life.
13 Pois ouvi a murmuração de muitos; temor havia ao redor; porquanto todos se conluiavam contra mim; intentam tirar-me a vida.
14 But I had faith in you, O Lord; I said, You are my God.
14 Mas eu confiei em ti, SENHOR; e disse: Tu és o meu Deus.
15 The chances of my life are in your hand; take me out of the hands of my haters, and of those who go after me.
15 Os meus tempos estão nas tuas mãos; livra-me das mãos dos meus inimigos e dos que me perseguem.
16 Let your servant see the light of your face; in your mercy be my saviour.
16 Faze resplandecer o teu rosto sobre o teu servo; salva-me por tuas misericórdias.
17 Let me not be shamed, O Lord, for I have made my prayer to you; let the sinners be shamed, and let their mouths be shut in the underworld.
17 Não me deixes confundido, SENHOR, porque te tenho invocado; deixa confundidos os ímpios; emudeçam na sepultura.
18 Let the false lips be shut, which say evil against the upright, looking down on him in their pride.
18 Emudeçam os lábios mentirosos que dizem coisas más com arrogância e desprezo contra o justo.
19 O how great is your grace, which you have put in store for your worshippers, and which you have made clear to those who had faith in you, before the sons of men!
19 Oh! Quão grande é a tua bondade, que guardaste para os que te temem, e que tu mostraste àqueles que em ti confiam na presença dos filhos dos homens!
20 You will keep them safe in your house from the designs of man; in the secret of your tent will you keep them from angry tongues.
20 Tu os esconderás, no secreto da tua presença, das intrigas dos homens; ocultá-los-ás, em um pavilhão, da contenda das línguas.
21 May the Lord be praised, because he has made clear to me the wonder of his grace in a strong town.
21 Bendito seja o SENHOR, pois fez maravilhosa a sua misericórdia para comigo em cidade segura.
22 And as for me, I said in my fear, I am cut off from before your eyes; but you gave ear to the voice of my prayer, when my cry went up to you.
22 Pois eu dizia na minha pressa: Estou cortado de diante dos teus olhos; não obstante, tu ouviste a voz das minhas súplicas, quando eu a ti clamei.
23 O have love for the Lord, all you his saints; for the Lord keeps safe from danger all those who are true to him, and gives the workers of pride their right reward.

24 Put away fear and let your heart be strong, all you whose hope is in the Lord.

Psalms 32
1 Happy is he who has forgiveness for his wrongdoing, and whose sin is covered.

2 Happy is the man in whom the Lord sees no evil, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

3 When I kept my mouth shut, my bones were wasted, because of my crying all through the day.

6 For this cause let every saint make his prayer to you at a time when you are near: then the overflowing of the great waters will not overtake him.
6 Pelo que todo aquele que é santo orará a ti, a tempo de te poder achar; até no transbordar de muitas águas, estas a ele não chegarão.
7 You are my safe and secret place; you will keep me from trouble; you will put songs of salvation on the lips of those who are round me. (Selah.)

8 I will give you knowledge, teaching you the way to go; my eye will be your guide.

10 The sinner will be full of trouble; but mercy will be round the man who has faith in the Lord.
10 O ímpio tem muitas dores, mas aquele que confia no SENHOR, a misericórdia o cercará.
11 Be glad in the Lord with joy, you upright men; give cries of joy, all you whose hearts are true.
11 Alegrai-vos no SENHOR e regozijai-vos, vós, os justos; e cantai alegremente todos vós que sois retos de coração.
Psalms 33
1 Be glad in the Lord, O doers of righteousness; for praise is beautiful for the upright.
1 Regozijai-vos no SENHOR, vós, justos, pois aos retos convém o louvor.
2 Give praise to the Lord on the corded instrument; make melody to him with instruments of music.
2 Louvai ao SENHOR com harpa, cantai a ele com saltério de dez cordas.

4 For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his works are certain.

5 His delight is in righteousness and wisdom; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the army of heaven by the breath of his mouth.

7 He makes the waters of the sea come together in a mass; he keeps the deep seas in store-houses.

8 Let the earth be full of the fear of the Lord; let all the people of the world be in holy fear of him.
8 Tema toda a terra ao SENHOR; temam-no todos os moradores do mundo.
9 For he gave the word, and it was done; by his order it was fixed for ever.
9 Porque falou, e tudo se fez; mandou, e logo tudo apareceu.
10 The Lord undoes the designs of the nations; he makes the thoughts of the peoples without effect.
10 O SENHOR desfaz o conselho das nações; quebranta os intentos dos povos.
11 The Lord’s purpose is eternal, the designs of his heart go on through all the generations of man.
11 O conselho do SENHOR permanece para sempre; os intentos do seu coração, de geração em geração.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he has taken for his heritage.

13 The Lord is looking down from heaven; he sees all the sons of men;

16 A king’s salvation is not in the power of his army; a strong man does not get free by his great strength.

17 A horse is a false hope; his great power will not make any man free from danger.

18 See, the eye of the Lord is on those in whose hearts is the fear of him, on those whose hope is in his mercy;
18 Eis que os olhos do SENHOR estão sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua misericórdia,
19 To keep their souls from death; and to keep them living in time of need.

20 Our souls are waiting for the Lord; he is our help and our salvation.

1 I will be blessing the Lord at all times; his praise will be ever in my mouth.

2 My soul will say great things of the Lord: the poor in spirit will have knowledge of it and be glad.

3 O give praise to the Lord with me; let us be witnesses together of his great name.

4 I was searching for the Lord, and he gave ear to my voice, and made me free from all my fears.

6 This poor man’s cry came before the Lord, and he gave him salvation from all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord is ever watching over those who have fear of him, to keep them safe.
7 O anjo do SENHOR acampa-se ao redor dos que o temem, e os livra.
8 By experience you will see that the Lord is good; happy is the man who has faith in him.
8 Provai e vede que o SENHOR é bom; bem-aventurado o homem que nele confia.
9 Keep yourselves in the fear of the Lord, all you his saints; for those who do so will have no need of anything.

10 The young lions are in need and have no food; but those who are looking to the Lord will have every good thing.
10 Os filhos dos leões necessitam e sofrem fome, mas aqueles que buscam ao SENHOR de nada têm falta.
11 Come, children, give attention to me; I will be your teacher in the fear of the Lord.
11 Vinde, meninos, ouvi-me; eu vos ensinarei o temor do SENHOR.
12 What man has a love of life, and a desire that his days may be increased so that he may see good?
12 Quem é o homem que deseja a vida, que quer largos dias para ver o bem?
13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from words of deceit.

14 Be turned from evil, and do good; make a search for peace, desiring it with all your heart.

17 The cry of the upright comes before the Lord, and he takes them out of all their troubles.
17 Os justos clamam, e o SENHOR os ouve e os livra de todas as suas angústias.
18 The Lord is near the broken-hearted; he is the saviour of those whose spirits are crushed down.
18 Perto está o SENHOR dos que têm o coração quebrantado e salva os contritos de espírito.
19 Great are the troubles of the upright: but the Lord takes him safely out of them all.
19 Muitas são as aflições do justo, mas o SENHOR o livra de todas.
20 He keeps all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21 Evil will put an end to the sinner, and those who are haters of righteousness will come to destruction.

22 The Lord will be the saviour of the souls of his servants, and no one who has faith in him will be put to shame.

Psalms 35
1 O Lord, be on my side against those who are judging me; be at war with those who make war against me.

2 Be a breastplate to me, and give me your help.
2 Pega do escudo e da rodela e levanta-te em minha ajuda.
3 Take up your spear and keep back my attackers; say to my soul, I am your salvation.
3 Tira da lança e obstrui o caminho aos que me perseguem; dize à minha alma: Eu sou a tua salvação.
4 Let them be overcome and put to shame who make attempts to take my soul; let those who would do me damage be turned back and made foolish.
4 Sejam confundidos e envergonhados os que buscam a minha vida; voltem atrás e envergonhem-se os que contra mim intentam o mal.
5 Let them be like dust from the grain before the wind; let the angel of the Lord send them in flight.
5 Sejam como pragana perante o vento; o anjo do SENHOR os faça fugir.
6 Let their way be dark and full of danger; let them be troubled by the angel of the Lord.
6 Seja o seu caminho tenebroso e escorregadio, e o anjo do SENHOR os persiga.
7 For without cause they have put a net ready for me secretly, in which to take my soul.
7 Porque sem causa encobriram de mim a rede na cova, que sem razão cavaram para a minha alma.
8 Let destruction come on them without their knowledge; let them be taken themselves in their secret nets, falling into the same destruction.
8 Sobrevenha-lhes destruição sem o saberem, e prenda-os a rede que ocultaram; caiam eles nessa mesma destruição.
9 And my soul will have joy in the Lord; it will be glad in his salvation.
9 E a minha alma se alegrará no SENHOR; alegrar-se-á na sua salvação.
10 All my bones will say, Lord, who is like you? The saviour of the poor man from the hands of the strong, of him who is poor and in need from him who takes his goods.
10 Todos os meus ossos dirão: SENHOR, quem é como tu? Pois livras o pobre daquele que é mais forte do que ele; sim, o pobre e o necessitado, daquele que os rouba.
11 False witnesses got up: they put questions to me about crimes of which I had no knowledge.
11 Falsas testemunhas se levantaram; depuseram contra mim coisas que eu não sabia.
12 They gave me back evil for good, troubling my soul.
12 Tornaram-me o mal pelo bem, roubando a minha alma.
13 But as for me, when they were ill I put on the clothing of sorrow: I went without food and was sad, and my prayer came back again to my heart.
13 Mas, quanto a mim, quando estavam enfermos, a minha veste era pano de saco; humilhava a minha alma com o jejum, e a minha oração voltava para o meu seio.
14 My behaviour was as if it had been my friend or my brother: I was bent low in grief like one whose mother is dead.
14 Portava-me com ele como se fora meu irmão ou amigo; andava lamentando e muito encurvado, como quem chora por sua mãe.
15 But they took pleasure in my trouble, and came together, yes, low persons came together against me without my knowledge; they never came to an end of wounding me.
15 Mas eles com a minha adversidade se alegravam e se congregavam; os abjetos se congregavam contra mim, e eu não o sabia; rasgavam-me e não cessavam.
16 Like men of deceit they put me to shame; the voice of their wrath was loud against me.
16 Como hipócritas zombadores nas festas, rangiam os dentes contra mim.
17 Lord, how long will you be looking on? take my soul from their destruction, my life from the lions.
17 Senhor, até quando verás isto? Resgata a minha alma das suas assolações, e a minha predileta, dos leões.
18 I will give you praise in the great meeting; I will give you honour among a strong people.
18 Louvar-te-ei na grande congregação; entre muitíssimo povo te celebrarei.
19 Do not let my haters be glad over me falsely; let not those who are against me without cause make sport of me.
19 Não se alegrem de mim os meus inimigos sem razão, nem pisquem os olhos aqueles que me aborrecem sem causa.
20 For they do not say words of peace; in their deceit they are designing evil things against the quiet ones in the land.
20 Pois não falam de paz; antes, projetam enganar os quietos da terra.
21 Their mouths were open wide against me, and they said, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it.
21 Abrem a boca de par em par contra mim e dizem: Ah! Ah! Os nossos olhos o viram!
22 You have seen this, O Lord; be not unmoved: O Lord, be not far from me.
22 Tu, SENHOR, o viste, não te cales; Senhor, não te alongues de mim;
23 Be awake, O Lord, be moved to take up my cause, my God and my Lord.
23 desperta e acorda para o meu julgamento, para a minha causa, Deus meu e Senhor meu!
24 Be my judge, O Lord my God, in your righteousness; do not let them be glad over me.
24 Julga-me segundo a tua justiça, SENHOR, Deus meu, e não deixes que se alegrem de mim.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, So we will have it: let them not say, We have put an end to him.
25 Não digam em seu coração: Eia, sus, alma nossa! Não digam: Nós o havemos devorado!
26 Let all those who take pleasure in my troubles be shamed and come to nothing: let those who are lifted up against me be covered with shame and have no honour.
26 Envergonhem-se e confundam-se à uma os que se alegram com o meu mal; vistam-se de vergonha e de confusão os que se engrandecem contra mim.
27 Let those who are on my side give cries of joy; let them ever say, The Lord be praised, for he has pleasure in the peace of his servant.

28 And my tongue will be talking of your righteousness and of your praise all the day.

Psalms 36
1 The sin of the evil-doer says in his heart, There is no fear of the Lord before his eyes.
1 A prevaricação do ímpio fala no íntimo do seu coração; não há temor de Deus perante os seus olhos.
2 For he takes comfort in the thought that his sin will not be uncovered and hated.
2 Porque em seus olhos se lisonjeia, até que a sua iniqüidade se mostre detestável.
3 In the words of his mouth are evil and deceit; he has given up being wise and doing good.
3 As palavras da sua boca são malícia e engano; deixou de entender e de fazer o bem.
4 He gives thought to evil on his bed; he takes a way which is not good; he is not a hater of evil.
4 Maquina o mal na sua cama; põe-se em caminho que não é bom; não aborrece o mal.
5 Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens, and your strong purpose is as high as the clouds.
5 A tua misericórdia, SENHOR, está nos céus, e a tua fidelidade chega até às mais excelsas nuvens.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; your judging is like the great deep; O Lord, you give life to man and beast.
6 A tua justiça é como as grandes montanhas; os teus juízos são um grande abismo; SENHOR, tu conservas os homens e os animais.
7 How good is your loving mercy, O God! the children of men take cover under the shade of your wings.
7 Quão preciosa é, ó Deus, a tua benignidade! E por isso os filhos dos homens se abrigam à sombra das tuas asas.
8 The delights of your house will be showered on them; you will give them drink from the river of your pleasures.
8 Eles se fartarão da gordura da tua casa, e os farás beber da corrente das tuas delícias;
9 For with you is the fountain of life: in your light we will see light.
9 porque em ti está o manancial da vida; na tua luz veremos a luz.
10 O let there be no end to your loving mercy to those who have knowledge of you, or of your righteousness to the upright in heart.
10 Estende a tua benignidade sobre os que te conhecem, e a tua justiça sobre os retos de coração.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, or the hand of the evil-doers put me out of my place.
11 Não venha sobre mim o pé dos soberbos, e não me mova a mão dos ímpios.
12 There the workers of evil have come down: they have been made low, and will not be lifted up.
12 Ali caem os obreiros da iniqüidade; cairão e não se poderão levantar.
Psalms 37
1 Do not be angry because of the wrongdoers, or have envy of the workers of evil.
1 Não te indignes por causa dos malfeitores, nem tenhas inveja dos que praticam a iniqüidade.
2 For they will quickly be cut down like grass, and become dry like the green plants.
2 Porque cedo serão ceifados como a erva e murcharão como a verdura.
3 Have faith in the Lord, and do good; be at rest in the land, and go after righteousness.
3 Confia no SENHOR e faze o bem; habitarás na terra e, verdadeiramente, serás alimentado.
4 So will your delight be in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
4 Deleita-te também no SENHOR, e ele te concederá o que deseja o teu coração.
5 Put your life in the hands of the Lord; have faith in him and he will do it.
5 Entrega o teu caminho ao SENHOR; confia nele, e ele tudo fará.
6 And he will make your righteousness be seen like the light, and your cause like the shining of the sun.
6 E ele fará sobressair a tua justiça como a luz; e o teu juízo, como o meio-dia.
7 Take your rest in the Lord, waiting quietly for him; do not be angry because of the man who does well in his evil ways, and gives effect to his bad designs.
7 Descansa no SENHOR e espera nele; não te indignes por causa daquele que prospera em seu caminho, por causa do homem que executa astutos intentos.
8 Put an end to your wrath and be no longer bitter; do not give way to angry feeling which is a cause of sin.
8 Deixa a ira e abandona o furor; não te indignes para fazer o mal.
9 For the evil-doers will be cut off: but those who have faith in the Lord will have the earth for their heritage.
9 Porque os malfeitores serão desarraigados; mas aqueles que esperam no SENHOR herdarão a terra.
10 For in a short time the evil-doer will be gone: you will go searching for his place, and it will not be there.
10 Pois ainda um pouco, e o ímpio não existirá; olharás para o seu lugar, e não aparecerá.
11 But the gentle will have the earth for their heritage; they will take their delight in peace without measure.
11 Mas os mansos herdarão a terra e se deleitarão na abundância de paz.
12 The sinner has evil designs against the upright, lifting up the voice of wrath against him.
12 O ímpio maquina contra o justo e contra ele range os dentes.
13 He will be laughed at by the Lord, who sees that his day is coming.
13 O Senhor se rirá dele, pois vê que vem chegando o seu dia.
14 The evil-doers have taken out their swords, their bows are bent; for crushing the poor, and to put to death those who are upright in their ways.
14 Os ímpios puxaram da espada e entesaram o arco, para derribarem o pobre e necessitado e para matarem os de reto caminho.
15 But their swords will be turned into their hearts, and their bows will be broken.
15 Mas a sua espada lhes entrará no coração, e os seus arcos se quebrarão.
16 The little which the good man has is better than the wealth of evil-doers.
16 Vale mais o pouco que tem o justo do que as riquezas de muitos ímpios.
17 For the arms of the evil-doers will be broken: but the Lord is the support of the good.
17 Pois os braços dos ímpios se quebrarão, mas o SENHOR sustém os justos.
18 The days of the upright are numbered by the Lord, and their heritage will be for ever.
18 O SENHOR conhece os dias dos retos, e a sua herança permanecerá para sempre.
19 They will not be shamed in the evil time, and in the days when all are in need of food they will have enough.
19 Não serão envergonhados nos dias maus e nos dias de fome se fartarão.
20 But the wrongdoers will come to destruction, and the haters of the Lord will be like the fat of lambs, they will be burned up; they will go up in smoke, and never again be seen.
20 Mas os ímpios perecerão, e os inimigos do SENHOR serão como a gordura dos cordeiros; desaparecerão e em fumaça se desfarão.
21 The sinner takes money and does not give it back; but the upright man has mercy, and gives to others.
21 O ímpio toma emprestado e não paga; mas o justo se compadece e dá.
22 Those who have his blessing will have the earth for their heritage; but those who are cursed by him will be cut off.
22 Porque aqueles que ele abençoa herdarão a terra, e aqueles que forem por ele amaldiçoados serão desarraigados.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he takes delight in his way.
23 Os passos de um homem bom são confirmados pelo SENHOR, e ele deleita-se no seu caminho.
24 Even if he has a fall he will not be without help: for the hand of the Lord is supporting him.
24 Ainda que caia, não ficará prostrado, pois o SENHOR o sustém com a sua mão.
25 I have been young, and now am old, but I have not seen the good man without help, or his children looking for bread.
25 Fui moço e agora sou velho; mas nunca vi desamparado o justo, nem a sua descendência a mendigar o pão.
26 All the day he is ready to have mercy and to give; his children are a blessing.
26 Compadece-se sempre, e empresta, e a sua descendência é abençoada.
27 Be turned from evil, and do good; and your place will be for ever.
27 Aparta-te do mal e faze o bem; e terás morada para sempre.
28 For the Lord is a lover of righteousness, and takes care of his saints; they will be kept safe for ever; but the seed of the evil-doers will be cut off.
28 Porque o SENHOR ama o juízo e não desampara os seus santos; eles são preservados para sempre; mas a descendência dos ímpios será desarraigada.
29 The upright will have the earth for their heritage, and will go on living there for ever.
29 Os justos herdarão a terra e habitarão nela para sempre.
30 The mouth of the good man says words of wisdom; the talk of his tongue is of righteousness.
30 A boca do justo fala da sabedoria; a sua língua fala do que é reto.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; he will never make a false step.
31 A lei do seu Deus está em seu coração; os seus passos não resvalarão.
32 The sinners are watching the upright man, desiring to put him to death.

33 The Lord will not give him into their hands, or be against him when he is judged.

34 Be waiting for the Lord, and keep his way; and you will be lifted up, and have the land for your heritage: when the evil-doers are cut off, you will see it.
34 Espera no SENHOR e guarda o seu caminho, e te exaltará para herdares a terra; tu o verás quando os ímpios forem desarraigados.
35 I have seen the evil-doer in great power, covering the earth like a great tree.
35 Vi o ímpio com grande poder espalhar-se como a árvore verde na terra natal.
36 But he came to an end, and there was no sign of him; I made a search for him and he was not there.
36 Mas passou e já não é; procurei-o, mas não se pôde encontrar.
37 Give attention to the good man, and take note of the upright; because the end of that man is peace.
37 Nota o homem sincero e considera o que é reto, porque o futuro desse homem será de paz.
38 But as for the sinners, they will be cut off together; the end of the wrongdoers is destruction.
38 Quanto aos transgressores, serão, à uma, destruídos, e as relíquias dos ímpios todas perecerão.
39 But the Lord is the saviour of the upright: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
39 Mas a salvação dos justos vem do SENHOR; ele é a sua fortaleza no tempo da angústia.
40 And the Lord will be their help, and keep them safe: he will take them out of the hands of the evil-doers, and be their saviour, because they had faith in him.
40 E o SENHOR os ajudará e os livrará; ele os livrará dos ímpios e os salvará, porquanto confiam nele.
Psalms 38
1 O Lord, be not bitter with me in your wrath; let not your hand be on me in the heat of your passion.
1 Ó SENHOR, não me repreendas na tua ira, nem me castigues no teu furor.
2 For your arrows have gone into my flesh, and I am crushed under the weight of your hand.
2 Porque as tuas flechas se cravaram em mim, e a tua mão sobre mim desceu.
3 My flesh is wasted because of your wrath; and there is no peace in my bones because of my sin.
3 Não há coisa sã na minha carne, por causa da tua cólera; nem há paz em meus ossos, por causa do meu pecado.
4 For my crimes have gone over my head; they are like a great weight which is more than my strength.
4 Pois já as minhas iniqüidades ultrapassam a minha cabeça; como carga pesada são demais para as minhas forças.
5 My wounds are poisoned and evil-smelling, because of my foolish behaviour.
5 As minhas chagas cheiram mal e estão corruptas, por causa da minha loucura.
6 I am troubled, I am made low; I go weeping all the day.
6 Estou encurvado, estou muito abatido, ando lamentando todo o dia.
7 For my body is full of burning; all my flesh is unhealthy.
7 Porque os meus lombos estão cheios de ardor, e não há coisa sã na minha carne.
8 I am feeble and crushed down; I gave a cry like a lion because of the grief in my heart.
8 Estou fraco e mui quebrantado; tenho rugido por causa do desassossego do meu coração.
9 Lord, all my desire is before you; my sorrow is not kept secret from you.
9 Senhor, diante de ti está todo o meu desejo, e o meu gemido não te é oculto.
10 My heart goes out in pain, my strength is wasting away; as for the light of my eyes, it is gone from me.
10 O meu coração dá voltas, a minha força me falta; quanto à luz dos meus olhos, até essa me deixou.
11 My lovers and my friends keep away from my disease; my relations keep far away.
11 Os meus amigos e os meus propínquos afastam-se da minha chaga; e os meus parentes se põem em distância.
12 Those who have a desire to take my life put nets for me; those who are designing my destruction say evil things against me, all the day their minds are full of deceit.
12 Também os que buscam a minha vida me armam laços, e os que procuram o meu mal dizem coisas que danificam e imaginam astúcias todo o dia.
13 But I kept my ears shut like a man without hearing; like a man without a voice, never opening his mouth.
13 Mas eu, como surdo, não ouvia e, como mudo, não abri a boca.
14 So I was like a man whose ears are shut, and in whose mouth there are no sharp words.
14 Assim eu sou como homem que não ouve, e em cuja boca não há reprovação.
15 In you, O Lord, is my hope: you will give me an answer, O Lord, my God.
15 Porque em ti, SENHOR, espero; tu, Senhor, meu Deus, me ouvirás.
16 I said, Let them not be glad over me; when my foot is moved, let them not be lifted up with pride against me.
16 Porque dizia eu: Ouve-me, para que se não alegrem de mim; quando escorrega o meu pé, eles se engrandecem contra mim.
17 My feet are near to falling, and my sorrow is ever before me.
17 Porque estou prestes a coxear; a minha dor está constantemente perante mim.
18 I will make clear my wrongdoing, with sorrow in my heart for my sin.

19 But they are strong who have hate for me without cause: those who are against me falsely are increased in numbers.

20 They give me back evil for good; they are my haters because I go after the thing which is right.

1 I said, I will give attention to my ways, so that my tongue may do no wrong; I will keep my mouth under control, while the sinner is before me.
1 Eu disse: Guardarei os meus caminhos para não delinqüir com a minha língua; enfrearei a minha boca enquanto o ímpio estiver diante de mim.
2 I made no sound, I said no word, even of good; and I was moved with sorrow.
2 Com o silêncio fiquei como mudo; calava-me mesmo acerca do bem; mas a minha dor se agravou.
3 My heart was burning in my breast; while I was deep in thought the fire was lighted; then I said with my tongue,
3 Incendeu-se dentro de mim o meu coração; enquanto eu meditava se acendeu um fogo: então falei com a minha língua. Disse:
4 Lord, give me knowledge of my end, and of the measure of my days, so that I may see how feeble I am.
4 Faze-me conhecer, SENHOR, o meu fim, e a medida dos meus dias qual é, para que eu sinta quanto sou frágil.
5 You have made my days no longer than a hand’s measure; and my years are nothing in your eyes; truly, every man is but a breath. (Selah.)
5 Eis que fizeste os meus dias como a palmos; o tempo da minha vida é como nada diante de ti; na verdade, todo homem, por mais firme que esteja, é totalmente vaidade. (Selá)
6 Truly, every man goes on his way like an image; he is troubled for no purpose: he makes a great store of wealth, and has no knowledge of who will get it.
6 Na verdade, todo homem anda como uma sombra; na verdade, em vão se inquietam; amontoam riquezas e não sabem quem as levará.
7 And now, Lord, what am I waiting for? my hope is in you.

8 Make me free from all my sins; do not let me be shamed by the man of evil behaviour.

9 I was quiet, and kept my mouth shut; because you had done it.

10 No longer let your hand be hard on me; I am wasted by the blows of your hand.

11 By the weight of your wrath against man’s sin, the glory of his form is wasted away; truly every man is but a breath. (Selah.)

12 Let my prayer come to your ears, O Lord, and give attention to my cry, make an answer to my weeping: for my time here is short before you, and in a little time I will be gone, like all my fathers.
12 Ouve, SENHOR, a minha oração, e inclina os teus ouvidos ao meu clamor; não te cales perante as minhas lágrimas, porque sou para contigo como um estranho, e peregrino como todos os meus pais.
13 Let your wrath be turned away from me, so that I may be comforted, before I go away from here, and become nothing.

Psalms 40
1 When I was waiting quietly for the Lord, his heart was turned to me, and he gave ear to my cry.
1 Esperei com paciência no SENHOR, e ele se inclinou para mim, e ouviu o meu clamor.
2 He took me up out of a deep waste place, out of the soft and sticky earth; he put my feet on a rock, and made my steps certain.
2 Tirou-me de um lago horrível, de um charco de lodo; pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha, firmou os meus passos;
3 And he put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God; numbers have seen it with fear, and put their faith in the Lord.
3 e pôs um novo cântico na minha boca, um hino ao nosso Deus; muitos o verão, e temerão, e confiarão no SENHOR.
4 Happy is the man who has faith in the Lord, and does not give honour to the men of pride or to those who are turned away to deceit.
4 Bem-aventurado o homem que põe no SENHOR a sua confiança e que não respeita os soberbos, nem os que se desviam para a mentira.
5 O Lord my God, great are the wonders which you have done in your thought for us; it is not possible to put them out in order before you; when I would give an account of them, their number is greater than I may say.
5 Muitas são, SENHOR, meu Deus, as maravilhas que tens operado para conosco, e os teus pensamentos não se podem contar diante de ti; eu quisera anunciá-los e manifestá-los, mas são mais do que se podem contar.
6 You had no desire for offerings of beasts or fruits of the earth; ears you made for me: for burned offerings and sin offerings you made no request.
6 Sacrifício e oferta não quiseste; os meus ouvidos abriste; holocausto e expiação pelo pecado não reclamaste.
7 Then I said, See, I come; it is recorded of me in the roll of the book,
7 Então disse: Eis aqui venho; no rolo do livro está escrito de mim:
8 My delight is to do your pleasure, O my God; truly, your law is in my heart.
8 Deleito-me em fazer a tua vontade, ó Deus meu; sim, a tua lei está dentro do meu coração.
9 I have given news of righteousness in the great meeting; O Lord, you have knowledge that I have not kept back my words.
9 Preguei a justiça na grande congregação; eis que não retive os meus lábios, SENHOR, tu o sabes.
10 Your righteousness has not been folded away in my heart; I have made clear your true word and your salvation; I have not kept secret your mercy or your faith from the great meeting.
10 Não escondi a tua justiça dentro do meu coração; apregoei a tua fidelidade e a tua salvação; não escondi da grande congregação a tua benignidade e a tua verdade.
11 Take not away your gentle mercies from me, O Lord; let your mercy and your faith keep me safe for ever.
11 Não detenhas para comigo, SENHOR, as tuas misericórdias; guardem-me continuamente a tua benignidade e a tua verdade.
12 For unnumbered evils are round about me; my sins have overtaken me, so that I am bent down with their weight; they are more than the hairs of my head, my strength is gone because of them.
12 Porque males sem número me têm rodeado; as minhas iniqüidades me prenderam, de modo que não posso olhar para cima; são mais numerosas do que os cabelos da minha cabeça, pelo que desfalece o meu coração.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to take me out of danger; O Lord, come quickly and give me help.
13 Digna-te, SENHOR, livrar-me; SENHOR, apressa-te em meu auxílio.
14 Let those who go after my soul for its destruction have shame and trouble together; let them be turned back and made foolish who take pleasure in my trouble.
14 Sejam à uma confundidos e envergonhados os que buscam a minha vida para destruí-la; tornem atrás e confundam-se os que me querem mal.
15 Let those who say to me, Aha, aha! be surprised because of their shame.
15 Confundidos sejam em troca da sua afronta os que me dizem: Ah! Ah!
16 Let all those who are looking for you be glad and have joy in you; let the lovers of your salvation ever say, May the Lord be great.
16 Folguem e alegrem-se em ti os que te buscam; digam constantemente os que amam a tua salvação: Engrandecido seja o SENHOR.
17 Though I am poor and in need, the Lord has me in mind; you are my help and my saviour; let there be no waiting, O my God.
17 Eu sou pobre e necessitado; mas o Senhor cuida de mim: tu és o meu auxílio e o meu libertador; não te detenhas, ó meu Deus.
Psalms 41
1 Happy is the man who gives thought to the poor; the Lord will be his saviour in the time of trouble.
1 Bem-aventurado é aquele que atende ao pobre; o SENHOR o livrará no dia do mal.
2 The Lord will keep him safe, and give him life; the Lord will let him be a blessing on the earth, and will not give him into the hand of his haters.
2 O SENHOR o livrará e o conservará em vida; será abençoado na terra, e tu não o entregarás à vontade de seus inimigos.
3 The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength.
3 O SENHOR o sustentará no leito da enfermidade; tu renovas a sua cama na doença.
4 I said, Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.
4 Eu dizia: SENHOR, tem piedade de mim; sara a minha alma, porque pequei contra ti.
5 My haters say evil against me, When will he be dead, and his name come to an end?

6 If one comes to see me, deceit is in his heart; he keeps a store of evil, which he makes public in every place.

7 All my haters are talking secretly together against me; they are designing my downfall.

8 They say, He has an evil disease, which will not let him go: and now that he is down he will not get up again.
8 Uma doença má se lhe pegou; e, pois que está deitado, não se levantará mais.
9 Even my dearest friend, in whom I had faith, who took bread with me, is turned against me.
9 Até o meu próprio amigo íntimo, em quem eu tanto confiava, que comia do meu pão, levantou contra mim o seu calcanhar.
10 But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, lifting me up, so that I may give them their punishment.
10 Mas tu, SENHOR, tem piedade de mim, e levanta-me, para que eu lhes dê o pago.
11 By this I see that you have pleasure in me, because my hater does not overcome me.
11 Por isto conheço eu que tu me favoreces: que o meu inimigo não triunfa de mim.
12 And as for me, you are my support in my righteousness, giving me a place before your face for ever.
12 Quanto a mim, tu me sustentas na minha sinceridade e me puseste diante da tua face para sempre.
13 May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.

Psalms 42
1 Like the desire of the roe for the water-streams, so is my soul’s desire for you, O God.
1 Como o cervo brama pelas correntes das águas, assim suspira a minha alma por ti, ó Deus!
2 My soul is dry for need of God, the living God; when may I come and see the face of God?
2 A minha alma tem sede de Deus, do Deus vivo; quando entrarei e me apresentarei ante a face de Deus?
3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they keep saying to me, Where is your God?
3 As minhas lágrimas servem-me de mantimento de dia e de noite, porquanto me dizem constantemente: Onde está o teu Deus?
4 Let my soul be overflowing with grief when these things come back to my mind, how I went in company to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with the song of those who were keeping the feast.

6 My soul is crushed down in me, so I will keep you in mind; from the land of Jordan and of the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.
6 Ó meu Deus, dentro de mim a minha alma está abatida; portanto, lembro-me de ti desde a terra do Jordão, e desde o Hermom, e desde o pequeno monte.
7 Deep is sounding to deep at the noise of your waterfalls; all your waves have gone rolling over me.
7 Um abismo chama outro abismo, ao ruído das tuas catadupas; todas as tuas ondas e vagas têm passado sobre mim.
8 But the Lord will send his mercy in the daytime, and in the night his song will be with me, a prayer to the God of my life.
8 Contudo, o SENHOR mandará de dia a sua misericórdia, e de noite a sua canção estará comigo: a oração ao Deus da minha vida.
9 I will say to God my Rock, Why have you let me go from your memory? why do I go in sorrow because of the attacks of my haters?

10 The cruel words of my haters are like a crushing of my bones; when they say to me every day, Where is your God?

Psalms 43
1 Be my judge, O God, supporting my cause against a nation without religion; O keep me from the false and evil man.
1 Faze-me justiça, ó Deus, e pleiteia a minha causa contra a gente ímpia; livra-me do homem fraudulento e injusto.
2 You are the God of my strength; why have you put me from you? why do I go in sorrow because of the attacks of my haters?

3 O send out your light and your true word; let them be my guide: let them take me to your holy hill, and to your tents.

1 It has come to our ears, O God, our fathers have given us the story, of the works which you did in their days, in the old times,

2 Uprooting the nations with your hand, and planting our fathers in their place; cutting down the nations, but increasing the growth of your people.

3 For they did not make the land theirs by their swords, and it was not their arms which kept them safe; but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your face, because you had pleasure in them.

5 Through you will we overcome our haters; by your name will they be crushed under our feet who are violent against us.

10 Tu nos fazes retirar-nos do inimigo, e aqueles que nos odeiam nos tomam como saque.
11 You have made us like sheep which are taken for meat; we are put to flight among the nations.
11 Tu nos entregaste como ovelhas para comer e nos espalhaste entre as nações.
12 You let your people go for nothing; your wealth is not increased by their price.
12 Tu vendes por nada o teu povo e não aumentas a tua riqueza com o seu preço.
13 You have made us to be looked down on by our neighbours, we are laughed at and shamed by those who are round about us.
13 Tu nos fazes o opróbrio dos nossos vizinhos, o escárnio e a zombaria daqueles que estão à roda de nós.
14 Our name is a word of shame among the nations, a sign for the shaking of heads among the peoples.
14 Tu nos pões por provérbio entre as nações, por movimento de cabeça entre os povos.
15 My downfall is ever before me, and I am covered with the shame of my face;
15 A minha confusão está constantemente diante de mim, e a vergonha do meu rosto me cobre,
16 Because of the voice of him who says sharp and bitter words; because of the hater and him who is the instrument of punishment.
16 à voz daquele que afronta e blasfema, por causa do inimigo e do que se vinga.
17 All this has come on us, but still we have kept you in our memory; and we have not been false to your word.
17 Tudo isto nos sobreveio; todavia, não nos esquecemos de ti, nem nos houvemos falsamente contra o teu concerto.
18 Our hearts have not gone back, and our steps have not been turned out of your way;

19 Though you have let us be crushed in the place of jackals, though we are covered with darkest shade.
19 ainda que nos quebrantaste num lugar de dragões e nos cobriste com a sombra da morte.
20 If the name of our God has gone out of our minds, or if our hands have been stretched out to a strange god,
20 Se nós esquecermos o nome do nosso Deus e estendermos as nossas mãos para um deus estranho,
21 Will not God make search for it? for he sees the secrets of the heart.
21 porventura, não conhecerá Deus isso? Pois ele sabe os segredos do coração.
22 Truly, because of you we are put to death every day; we are numbered like sheep for destruction.

23 Why are you sleeping, O Lord? awake! and come to our help, do not give us up for ever.

24 Why is your face covered, and why do you give no thought to our trouble and our cruel fate?

25 For our souls are crushed down to the dust: our bodies are stretched out on the earth.

1 My heart is flowing over with good things; my words are of that which I have made for a king; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
1 O meu coração ferve com palavras boas; falo do que tenho feito no tocante ao rei; a minha língua é a pena de um destro escritor.
2 You are fairer than the children of men; grace is flowing through your lips; for this cause the blessing of God is with you for ever.
2 Tu és mais formoso do que os filhos dos homens; a graça se derramou em teus lábios; por isso, Deus te abençoou para sempre.
3 Put on your sword, make it ready at your side, O strong chief, with your glory and power.
3 Cinge a tua espada à coxa, ó valente, com a tua glória e a tua majestade.
4 And go nobly on in your power, because you are good and true and without pride; and your right hand will be teaching you things of fear.
4 E neste teu esplendor cavalga prosperamente pela causa da verdade, da mansidão e da justiça; e a tua destra te ensinará coisas terríveis.
5 Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s haters; because of them the peoples are falling under you.
5 As tuas flechas são agudas no coração dos inimigos do rei, e por elas os povos caíram debaixo de ti.
6 Your seat of power, O God, is for ever and ever; the rod of your kingdom is a rod of honour.
6 O teu trono, ó Deus, é eterno e perpétuo; o cetro do teu reino é um cetro de eqüidade.
7 You have been a lover of righteousness and a hater of evil: and so God, your God, has put the oil of joy on your head, lifting you high over all other kings.
7 Tu amas a justiça e aborreces a impiedade; por isso, Deus, o teu Deus, te ungiu com óleo de alegria, mais do que a teus companheiros.
8 Your robes are full of the smell of all sorts of perfumes and spices; music from the king’s ivory houses has made you glad.
8 Todas as tuas vestes cheiram a mirra, a aloés e a cássia, desde os palácios de marfim de onde te alegram.
9 Kings’ daughters are among your noble women: on your right is the queen in gold of Ophir.
9 As filhas dos reis estavam entre as tuas ilustres donzelas; à tua direita estava a rainha ornada de finíssimo ouro de Ofir.
10 O daughter, give thought and attention, and let your ear be open; no longer keep in mind your people, and your father’s house;
10 Ouve, filha, e olha, e inclina teus ouvidos; esquece-te do teu povo e da casa de teu pai.
11 So will the king have a great desire for you, seeing how beautiful you are; because he is your lord, give him honour.
11 Então, o rei se afeiçoará à tua formosura, pois ele é teu senhor; obedece-lhe.
12 And the daughters of Tyre will be there with an offering; those who have wealth among the people will be looking for your approval.
12 E a filha de Tiro estará ali com presentes; os ricos do povo suplicarão o teu favor.
13 In the great house the king’s daughter is all shining: her clothing is worked with gold.
13 A filha do rei é toda ilustre no seu palácio; as suas vestes são de ouro tecido.
14 She will come before the king in robes of needlework; the virgins in her train will come before you.
14 Levá-la-ão ao rei com vestes bordadas; as virgens que a acompanham a trarão a ti.
15 With joy and rapture will they come; they will go into the king’s house.
15 Com alegria e regozijo serão trazidas; elas entrarão no palácio do rei.
16 Your children will take the place of your fathers; so that you may make them rulers over all the earth.
16 Em lugar de teus pais será a teus filhos que farás príncipes sobre toda a terra.
17 I will keep the memory of your name living through all generations; and because of this the people will give you praise for ever.
17 Farei lembrado o teu nome de geração em geração; pelo que os povos te louvarão eternamente.
Psalms 46
1 God is our harbour and our strength, a very present help in trouble.
1 Deus é o nosso refúgio e fortaleza, socorro bem presente na angústia.
2 For this cause we will have no fear, even though the earth is changed, and though the mountains are moved in the heart of the sea;
2 Pelo que não temeremos, ainda que a terra se mude, e ainda que os montes se transportem para o meio dos mares.
3 Though its waters are sounding and troubled, and though the mountains are shaking with their violent motion. (Selah.)

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the resting-place of God, the holy place of the tents of the Most High.

1 O make a glad noise with your hands, all you peoples; letting your voices go up to God with joy.

2 For the Lord Most High is to be feared; he is a great King over all the earth.

Psalms 48
1 Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised, in the town of our God, in his holy mountain.
1 Grande é o SENHOR e mui digno de louvor na cidade do nosso Deus, no seu monte santo.
2 Beautiful in its high position, the joy of all the earth, is the mountain of Zion, the mountain of God, the town of the great King.
2 Formoso de sítio e alegria de toda a terra é o monte Sião sobre os lados do Norte, a cidade do grande Rei.
3 In its buildings God is seen to be a high tower.
3 Deus é conhecido nos seus palácios por um alto refúgio.
4 For see! the kings came together by agreement, they were joined together.

5 They saw it, and so were full of wonder; they were troubled, and went quickly away in fear.

9 Our thoughts were of your mercy, O God, while we were in your Temple.

10 As your name is, O God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth; your right hand is full of righteousness.

11 Let there be joy in the mountain of Zion, and let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of your wise decisions.

12 Make your way about Zion, and go round it, numbering its towers.
12 Rodeai Sião; cercai-a; contai as suas torres;
13 Take note of its strong walls, looking well at its fair buildings; so that you may give word of it to the generation which comes after.

14 Because this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide.

Psalms 49
1 Give attention to this, all you peoples; let your ears be open, all you who are living in the world.
1 Ouvi isto, vós todos os povos; inclinai os ouvidos, todos os moradores do mundo,
2 High and low together, the poor, and those who have wealth.
2 quer humildes quer grandes, tanto ricos como pobres.
3 From my mouth will come words of wisdom; and in the thoughts of my heart will be knowledge.
3 A minha boca falará da sabedoria; e a meditação do meu coração será de entendimento.
4 I will put my teaching into a story; I will make my dark sayings clear with music.
4 Inclinarei os meus ouvidos a uma parábola; decifrarei o meu enigma na harpa.
5 What cause have I for fear in the days of evil, when the evil-doing of those who are working for my downfall is round about me?
5 Por que temerei eu nos dias maus, quando me cercar a iniqüidade dos que me armam ciladas?
6 Even of those whose faith is in their wealth, and whose hearts are lifted up because of their stores.
6 Aqueles que confiam na sua fazenda e se gloriam na multidão das suas riquezas,
7 Truly, no man may get back his soul for a price, or give to God the payment for himself;
7 nenhum deles, de modo algum, pode remir a seu irmão ou dar a Deus o resgate dele
8 (Because it takes a great price to keep his soul from death, and man is not able to give it.)
8 (pois a redenção da sua alma é caríssima, e seus recursos se esgotariam antes);
9 So that he might have eternal life, and never see the underworld.
9 por isso, tampouco viverá para sempre ou deixará de ver a corrupção;
10 For he sees that wise men come to their end, and foolish persons of low behaviour come to destruction together, letting their wealth go to others.
10 porque vê que os sábios morrem, que perecem igualmente o louco e o bruto e deixam a outros os seus bens.
11 The place of the dead is their house for ever, and their resting-place through all generations; those who come after them give their names to their lands.
11 O seu pensamento interior é que as suas casas serão perpétuas, e as suas habitações, de geração em geração; dão às suas terras os seus próprios nomes.
12 But man, like the animals, does not go on for ever; he comes to an end like the beasts.
12 Todavia, o homem que está em honra não permanece; antes, é como os animais, que perecem.
13 This is the way of the foolish; their silver is for those who come after them, and their children get the pleasure of their gold. (Selah.)

14 Death will give them their food like sheep; the underworld is their fate and they will go down into it; their flesh is food for worms; their form is wasted away; the underworld is their resting-place for ever.

15 But God will get back my soul; for he will take me from the power of death. (Selah.)

16 Have no fear when wealth comes to a man, and the glory of his house is increased;

18 Though he might have pride in his soul in his life-time, and men will give you praise if you do well for yourself,

1 The God of gods, even the Lord, has sent out his voice, and the earth is full of fear; from the coming up of the sun to its going down.
1 O Deus poderoso, o SENHOR, falou e chamou a terra desde o nascimento do sol até ao seu ocaso.
2 From Zion, most beautiful of places, God has sent out his light.
2 Desde Sião, a perfeição da formosura, resplandeceu Deus.
3 Our God will come, and will not keep quiet; with fire burning before him, and storm-winds round him.
3 Virá o nosso Deus e não se calará; adiante dele um fogo irá consumindo, e haverá grande tormenta ao redor dele.
4 His voice will go out to the heavens and to the earth, for the judging of his people:
4 Do alto, chamará os céus e a terra, para julgar o seu povo.
5 Let my saints come together to me; those who have made an agreement with me by offerings.
5 Congregai os meus santos, aqueles que fizeram comigo um concerto com sacrifícios.
6 And let the heavens make clear his righteousness; for God himself is the judge. (Selah.)
6 E os céus anunciarão a sua justiça, pois Deus mesmo é o Juiz. (Selá)
7 Give ear, O my people, to my words; O Israel, I will be a witness against you; I am God, even your God.
7 Ouve, povo meu, e eu falarei; ó Israel, e eu, Deus, o teu Deus, protestarei contra ti.
8 I will not take up a cause against you because of your offerings, or because of your burned offerings, which are ever before me.
8 Não te repreenderei pelos teus sacrifícios, ou holocaustos, de contínuo perante mim.
9 I will take no ox out of your house, or he-goats from your flocks;
9 Da tua casa não tirarei bezerro nem bodes dos teus currais.
10 For every beast of the woodland is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
10 Porque meu é todo animal da selva e as alimárias sobre milhares de montanhas.
11 I see all the birds of the mountains, and the beasts of the field are mine.
11 Conheço todas as aves dos montes; e minhas são todas as feras do campo.
12 If I had need of food, I would not give you word of it; for the earth is mine and all its wealth.
12 Se eu tivesse fome, não to diria, pois meu é o mundo e a sua plenitude.
13 Am I to take the flesh of the ox for my food, or the blood of goats for my drink?
13 Comerei eu carne de touros? Ou beberei sangue de bodes?
14 Make an offering of praise to God; keep the agreements which you have made with the Most High;
14 Oferece a Deus sacrifício de louvor e paga ao Altíssimo os teus votos.
15 Let your voice come up to me in the day of trouble; I will be your saviour, so that you may give glory to me.
15 E invoca-me no dia da angústia; eu te livrarei, e tu me glorificarás.
16 But to the sinner, God says, What are you doing, talking of my laws, or taking the words of my agreement in your mouth?
16 Mas ao ímpio diz Deus: Que tens tu que recitar os meus estatutos e que tomar o meu concerto na tua boca,
17 Seeing that you have no desire for my teaching, turning your back on my words.
17 pois aborreces a correção e lanças as minhas palavras para detrás de ti?
18 When you saw a thief, you were in agreement with him, and you were joined with those who took other men’s wives.
18 Quando vês o ladrão, consentes com ele; e tens a tua parte com adúlteros.
19 You have given your mouth to evil, your tongue to words of deceit.
19 Soltas a tua boca para o mal, e a tua língua compõe o engano.
20 You say evil of your brother; you make false statements against your mother’s son.
20 Assentas-te a falar contra teu irmão; falas mal contra o filho de tua mãe.
21 These things have you done, and I said nothing; it seemed to you that I was such a one as yourself; but I will make a protest against you, and put them in order before your eyes.
21 Estas coisas tens feito, e eu me calei; pensavas que era como tu; mas eu te argüirei, e, em sua ordem, tudo porei diante dos teus olhos.
22 Now keep this in mind, you who have no memory of God, for fear that you may be crushed under my hand, with no one to give you help:
22 Ouvi, pois, isto, vós que vos esqueceis de Deus; para que vos não faça em pedaços, sem haver quem vos livre.
23 Whoever makes an offering of praise gives glory to me; and to him who is upright in his ways I will make clear the salvation of God.
23 Aquele que oferece sacrifício de louvor me glorificará; e àquele que bem ordena o seu caminho eu mostrarei a salvação de Deus.
Psalms 51
1 Have pity on me, O God, in your mercy; out of a full heart, take away my sin.
1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, segundo a tua benignidade; apaga as minhas transgressões, segundo a multidão das tuas misericórdias.
2 Let all my wrongdoing be washed away, and make me clean from evil.
2 Lava-me completamente da minha iniqüidade e purifica-me do meu pecado.
3 For I am conscious of my error; my sin is ever before me.
3 Porque eu conheço as minhas transgressões, e o meu pecado está sempre diante de mim.
4 Against you, you only, have I done wrong, working that which is evil in your eyes; so that your words may be seen to be right, and you may be clear when you are judging.
4 Contra ti, contra ti somente pequei, e fiz o que a teus olhos é mal, para que sejas justificado quando falares e puro quando julgares.
5 Truly, I was formed in evil, and in sin did my mother give me birth.
5 Eis que em iniqüidade fui formado, e em pecado me concebeu minha mãe.
6 Your desire is for what is true in the inner parts: in the secrets of my soul you will give me knowledge of wisdom.
6 Eis que amas a verdade no íntimo, e no oculto me fazes conhecer a sabedoria.
7 Make me free from sin with hyssop: let me be washed whiter than snow.
7 Purifica-me com hissopo, e ficarei puro; lava-me, e ficarei mais alvo do que a neve.
8 Make me full of joy and rapture; so that the bones which have been broken may be glad.
8 Faze-me ouvir júbilo e alegria, para que gozem os ossos que tu quebraste.
9 Let your face be turned from my wrongdoing, and take away all my sins.
9 Esconde a tua face dos meus pecados e apaga todas as minhas iniqüidades.
10 Make a clean heart in me, O God; give me a right spirit again.
10 Cria em mim, ó Deus, um coração puro e renova em mim um espírito reto.
11 Do not put me away from before you, or take your holy spirit from me.
11 Não me lances fora da tua presença e não retires de mim o teu Espírito Santo.
12 Give me back the joy of your salvation; let a free spirit be my support.
12 Torna a dar-me a alegria da tua salvação e sustém-me com um espírito voluntário.
13 Then will I make your ways clear to wrongdoers; and sinners will be turned to you.
13 Então, ensinarei aos transgressores os teus caminhos, e os pecadores a ti se converterão.
14 Be my saviour from violent death, O God, the God of my salvation; and my tongue will give praise to your righteousness.
14 Livra-me dos crimes de sangue, ó Deus, Deus da minha salvação, e a minha língua louvará altamente a tua justiça.
15 O Lord, let my lips be open, so that my mouth may make clear your praise.
15 Abre, Senhor, os meus lábios, e a minha boca entoará o teu louvor.
16 You have no desire for an offering or I would give it; you have no delight in burned offerings.
16 Porque te não comprazes em sacrifícios, senão eu os daria; tu não te deleitas em holocaustos.
17 The offerings of God are a broken spirit; a broken and sorrowing heart, O God, you will not put from you.
17 Os sacrifícios para Deus são o espírito quebrantado; a um coração quebrantado e contrito não desprezarás, ó Deus.
18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure, building up the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then you will have delight in the offerings of righteousness, in burned offerings and offerings of beasts; then they will make offerings of oxen on your altar.

1 Why do you take pride in wrongdoing, lifting yourself up against the upright man all the day?

7 Eis aqui o homem que não pôs a Deus por sua fortaleza; antes, confiou na abundância das suas riquezas e se fortaleceu na sua maldade.
8 But I am like a branching olive-tree in the house of God; I have put my faith in his mercy for ever and ever.
8 Mas eu sou como a oliveira verde na Casa de Deus; confio na misericórdia de Deus para sempre, eternamente.
9 I will give you praise without end for what you have done; I will give honour to your name before your saints, for it is good.

Psalms 53
1 The foolish man has said in his heart, God will not do anything. They are unclean, they have done evil works; there is not one who does good.
1 Disse o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Têm-se corrompido e têm cometido abominável iniqüidade; não há ninguém que faça o bem.
2 God was looking down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who had wisdom, searching after God.
2 Deus olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.
3 Every one of them has gone back; they are unclean: there is not one who does good, no, not one.
3 Desviaram-se todos e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não há sequer um.
4 Have the workers of evil no knowledge? they take my people for food, as they would take bread; they make no prayer to God.
4 Acaso não têm conhecimento estes obreiros da iniqüidade, os quais comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? Eles não invocam a Deus.
5 They were in great fear, where there was no cause for fear: for the bones of those who make war on you have been broken by God; you have put them to shame, because God has no desire for them.
5 Eis que se acharam em grande temor, onde temor não havia, porque Deus espalhou os ossos daquele que te cercava; tu os confundiste, porque Deus os rejeitou.
6 May the salvation of Israel come out of Zion! When the fate of his people is changed by God, Jacob will have joy, and Israel will be glad.
6 Oh! Se de Sião já viesse a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então, se regozijará Jacó e se alegrará Israel.
Psalms 54
1 Let your name be my salvation, O God; let my cause be judged by your strength.
1 Salva-me, ó Deus, pelo teu nome, e faze-me justiça pelo teu poder.
2 Let my prayer come before you, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.
2 Ó Deus, ouve a minha oração; inclina os teus ouvidos às palavras da minha boca.
3 For men who are going after me have come out against me, violent men are purposing to take my soul; they have not put God before their eyes. (Selah.)

4 See, God is my helper: the Lord is the great supporter of my soul.

5 Let the evil works of my haters come back on them again; let them be cut off by your good faith.

6 Freely will I make my offerings to you; I will give praise to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
6 Eu te oferecerei voluntariamente sacrifícios; louvarei o teu nome, ó SENHOR, porque é bom,
7 Because it has been my saviour from all my trouble; and my eyes have seen the punishment of my haters.
7 porque me livrou de toda a angústia; e os meus olhos viram cumprido o meu desejo acerca dos meus inimigos.
Psalms 55
1 Give hearing to my prayer, O God; and let not your ear be shut against my request.
1 Inclina, ó Deus, os teus ouvidos à minha oração e não te escondas da minha súplica.
2 Give thought to me, and let my prayer be answered: I have been made low in sorrow;
2 Atende-me e ouve-me; lamento-me e rujo,
3 I am troubled because of the voice of the cruel ones, because of the loud cry of the evil-doers; for they put a weight of evil on me, and they are cruel in their hate for me.
3 por causa do clamor do inimigo e da opressão do ímpio; pois lançam sobre mim iniqüidade e com furor me aborrecem.
4 My heart is deeply wounded, and the fear of death has come on me.
4 O meu coração está dorido dentro de mim, e terrores de morte sobre mim caíram.
5 Fear and shaking have come over me, with deep fear I am covered.
5 Temor e tremor me sobrevêm; e o horror me cobriu.
6 And I said, If only I had wings like a dove! for then I would go in flight from here and be at rest.

7 I would go wandering far away, living in the waste land. (Selah.)

8 I would quickly take cover from the driving storm and from the violent wind.

9 Send destruction on them, O Lord, make a division of tongues among them: for I have seen fighting and violent acts in the town.

12 For it was not my hater who said evil of me; that would have been no grief to me; it was not one outside the number of my friends who made himself strong against me, or I would have kept myself from him in a secret place;

13 But it was you, my equal, my guide, my well-loved friend.

16 As for me, I will make my prayer to God, and he will be my saviour.
16 Mas eu invocarei a Deus, e o SENHOR me salvará.
17 In the evening and in the morning and in the middle of the day I will make my prayer with sounds of grief; and my voice will come to his ears.
17 De tarde, e de manhã, e ao meio-dia, orarei; e clamarei, e ele ouvirá a minha voz.
18 He has taken my soul away from the attack which was made against me, and given it peace; for great numbers were against me.
18 Livrou em paz a minha alma da guerra que me moviam; pois eram muitos contra mim.
19 God will give thought to me; he who from early times is strong will send pain and trouble on them. (Selah.) Because they are unchanged, they have no fear of God.
19 Deus ouvirá; e os afligirá aquele que preside desde a antiguidade (Selá), porque não há neles nenhuma mudança, e tampouco temem a Deus.
20 He has put out his hand against those who were at peace with him; he has not kept his agreement.
20 Puseram suas mãos nos que tinham paz com ele; romperam a sua aliança.
21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, but they were sharp swords.
21 A sua boca era mais macia do que a manteiga, mas no seu coração, guerra; as suas palavras eram mais brandas do que o azeite; todavia, eram espadas nuas.
22 Put your cares on the Lord, and he will be your support; he will not let the upright man be moved.
22 Lança o teu cuidado sobre o SENHOR, e ele te susterá; nunca permitirá que o justo seja abalado.
23 But you, O God, will send them down into the underworld; the cruel and the false will be cut off before half their days are ended; but I will have faith in you.

1 Have mercy on me, O God, for man is attempting my destruction; every day he makes cruel attacks against me.
1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, porque o homem procura devorar-me; e me oprime, pelejando todo o dia.
2 My haters are ever ready to put an end to me; great numbers are lifting themselves up against me.
2 Os que me andam espiando procuram devorar-me todo o dia; pois são muitos os que pelejam contra mim, ó Altíssimo.
3 In the time of my fear, I will have faith in you.
3 No dia em que eu temer, hei de confiar em ti.
4 In God will I give praise to his word; in God have I put my hope; I will have no fear of what flesh may do to me.
4 Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra; em Deus pus a minha confiança e não temerei; que me pode fazer a carne?
5 Every day they make wrong use of my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
5 Todos os dias torcem as minhas palavras; todos os seus pensamentos são contra mim para o mal.
6 They come together, they are waiting in secret places, they take note of my steps, they are waiting for my soul.
6 Ajuntam-se, escondem-se, espiam os meus passos, como aguardando a minha morte.
7 By evil-doing they will not get free from punishment. In wrath, O God, let the peoples be made low.
7 Porventura, escaparão eles por meio da sua iniqüidade? Ó Deus, derriba os povos na tua ira!
8 You have seen my wanderings; put the drops from my eyes into your bottle; are they not in your record?

9 When I send up my cry to you, my haters will be turned back; I am certain of this, for God is with me.

11 In God have I put my hope, I will have no fear of what man may do to me.

13 Because you have taken my soul from the power of death; and kept my feet from falling, so that I may be walking before God in the light of life.

Psalms 57
1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me; for the hope of my soul is in you: I will keep myself safely under the shade of your wings, till these troubles are past.
1 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, tem misericórdia de mim, porque a minha alma confia em ti; e à sombra das tuas asas me abrigo, até que passem as calamidades.
2 I will send up my cry to the Most High God; to God who does all things for me.
2 Clamarei ao Deus Altíssimo, ao Deus que por mim tudo executa.
3 He will send from heaven, and take me from the power of him whose desire is for my destruction. God will send out his mercy and his good faith.
3 Ele dos céus enviará seu auxílio e me salvará do desprezo daquele que procurava devorar-me (Selá). Deus enviará a sua misericórdia e a sua verdade.
4 My soul is among lions; I am stretched out among those who are on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and whose tongue is a sharp sword.
4 A minha alma está entre leões, e eu estou entre aqueles que estão abrasados, filhos dos homens, cujos dentes são lanças e flechas, e cuja língua é espada afiada.
5 O God, be lifted up higher than the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

9 I will give you praise, O Lord, among the peoples; I will make songs to you among the nations.

10 For your mercy is great, stretching up to the heavens, and your righteousness goes up to the clouds.

1 Is there righteousness in your mouths, O you gods? are you upright judges, O you sons of men?

2 The purposes of your hearts are evil; your hands are full of cruel doings on the earth.

3 The evil-doers are strange from the first; from the hour of their birth they go out of the true way, saying false words.

4 Their poison is like the poison of a snake; they are like the adder, whose ears are shut;

5 Who will not be moved by the voice of the wonder-worker, however great are his powers.

6 O God, let their teeth be broken in their mouths; let the great teeth of the young lions be pulled out, O Lord.

7 Let them be turned to liquid like the ever-flowing waters; let them be cut off like the grass by the way.
7 Sumam-se como águas que se escoam; se armarem as suas flechas, fiquem estas feitas em pedaços.
8 Let them be like an after-birth which is turned to water and comes to an end; like the fruit of a woman who gives birth before her time, let them not see the sun.
8 Como a lesma que se derrete, assim se vão; como o aborto de uma mulher, nunca vejam o sol.
9 Before they are conscious of it, let them be cut down like thorns; let a strong wind take them away like waste growth.
9 Antes que os espinhos cheguem a aquecer as vossas panelas, serão arrebatados, tanto os verdes como os que estão ardendo, como por um redemoinho.
10 The upright man will be glad when he sees their punishment; his feet will be washed in the blood of the evil-doer.
10 O justo se alegrará quando vir a vingança; lavará os seus pés no sangue do ímpio.
11 So that men will say, Truly there is a reward for righteousness; truly there is a God who is judge on the earth.
11 Então, dirá o homem: Deveras há uma recompensa para o justo; deveras há um Deus que julga na terra.
Psalms 59
1 Take me out of the hands of the cruel ones, O my God; keep me safe from those who come up against me.
1 Livra-me, meu Deus, dos meus inimigos; defende-me daqueles que se levantam contra mim.
2 Take me out of the power of the workers of evil, and keep me safe from the men of blood.
2 Livra-me dos que praticam a iniqüidade e salva-me dos homens sanguinários,
3 For see, they are watching in secret for my soul; the strong have come together against me? but not because of my sin, or my evil-doing, O Lord.
3 pois eis que armam ciladas à minha alma; os fortes se ajuntam contra mim, sem transgressão minha ou pecado meu, ó SENHOR.
4 For no sin of mine they go quickly and get themselves ready; be awake and come to my help, and see.
4 Eles correm e se preparam, sem culpa minha; desperta para me ajudares e olha.
5 You, O Lord God of armies, are the God of Israel; come now and give punishment to the nations; have no mercy on any workers of deceit. (Selah.)

7 See, hate is dropping from their lips; curses are on their tongues: they say, Who gives attention to it?

8 But you are laughing at them, O Lord; you will make sport of all the nations.

10 The God of my mercy will go before me: God will let me see my desire effected on my haters.

11 Put them not to death, for so my people will keep the memory of them: let them be sent in all directions by your power; make them low, O Lord our saviour.

12 Because of the sin of their mouths and the word of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; and for their curses and their deceit,

13 Put an end to them in your wrath, put an end to them, so that they may not be seen again; let them see that God is ruling in Jacob and to the ends of the earth. (Selah.)

14 And in the evening let them come back, and make a noise like a dog, and go round the town.

15 Let them go wandering up and down in search of food, and be there all night if they have not enough.
15 Vagueiem buscando o que comer, passem a noite sem se fartarem.
16 But I will make songs of your power; yes, I will give cries of joy for your mercy in the morning; because you have been my strength and my high tower in the day of my trouble.

17 To you, O my strength, will I make my song: because God is my high tower, even the God of my mercy.

1 God, you have put us away from you, you have sent us in all directions, you have been angry; O be turned to us again.

2 By the power of your hand the earth is shaking and broken; make it strong again, for it is moved.

9 Who will take me into the strong town? who will be my guide into Edom?

10 Have not you put us away, O God? and you have not gone out with our armies.
10 Não serás tu, ó Deus, que nos tinhas rejeitado? Tu, ó Deus, que não saíste com os nossos exércitos?
11 Give us help in our trouble; for there is no help in man.
11 Dá-nos auxílio na angústia, porque vão é o socorro do homem.
12 Through God we will do great things, for through him our haters will be crushed under our feet.

1 Let my cry come to you, O God; let your ears be open to my prayer.

1 My soul, put all your faith in God; for from him comes my salvation.

3 How long will you go on designing evil against a man? running against him as against a broken wall, which is on the point of falling?

4 Their only thought is to put him down from his place of honour; their delight is in deceit: blessing is in their mouths but cursing in their hearts. (Selah.)

10 Have no faith in the rewards of evil-doing, or in profits wrongly made: if your wealth is increased, do not put your hopes on it.

11 Once has God said, twice has it come to my ears, that power is God’s:

12 And mercy, O Lord, is yours, for you give to every man the reward of his work.

1 O God, you are my God; early will I make my search for you: my soul is dry for need of you, my flesh is wasted with desire for you, as a dry and burning land where no water is;

1 O God, let the voice of my grief come to your ear: keep my life from the fear of those who are against me.

2 Keep me safe from the secret purpose of wrongdoers; from the band of the workers of evil;

1 Apressa-te, ó Deus, em me livrar; SENHOR, apressa-te em ajudar-me.
2 Let those who go after my soul have shame and trouble; let those who have evil designs against me be turned back and made foolish.
2 Fiquem envergonhados e confundidos os que procuram a minha alma; tornem atrás e confundam-se os que me desejam mal.
3 Let those who say Aha, aha! be turned back as a reward of their shame.
3 Voltem as costas cobertos de vergonha os que dizem: Ah! Ah!
4 Let all those who are looking for you be glad and have joy in you; let the lovers of your salvation ever say, May God be great.
4 Folguem e alegrem-se em ti todos os que te buscam; e aqueles que amam a tua salvação digam continuamente: Engrandecido seja Deus.
5 But I am poor and in need; come to me quickly, O God; you are my help and my saviour; let there be no waiting, O Lord.
5 Eu, porém, estou aflito e necessitado; apressa-te por mim, ó Deus; tu és o meu auxílio e o meu libertador; SENHOR, não te detenhas!
Psalms 71
1 In you, O Lord, have I put my hope; let me never be shamed.
1 Em ti, SENHOR, confio; nunca seja eu confundido.
2 Keep me safe in your righteousness, and come to my help; give ear to my voice, and be my saviour.
2 Livra-me na tua justiça e faze que eu escape; inclina os teus ouvidos para mim e salva-me.
3 Be my strong Rock, the strong place of my salvation; for you are my Rock, and my safe place.
3 Sê tu a minha habitação forte, à qual possa recorrer continuamente; deste um mandamento que me salva, pois tu és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza.
4 O my God, take me out of the hand of the sinner, out of the hand of the evil and cruel man.
4 Livra-me, meu Deus, das mãos do ímpio, das mãos do homem injusto e cruel,
5 For you are my hope, O Lord God; I have had faith in you from the time when I was young.

10 For my haters are waiting secretly for me; and those who are watching for my soul are banded together in their evil designs,
10 Porque os meus inimigos falam contra mim, e os que espiam a minha alma consultam juntos,
11 Saying, God has given him up; go after him and take him, for he has no helper.
11 dizendo: Deus o desamparou; persegui-o e prendei-o, pois não há quem o livre.
12 O God, be not far from me; O my God, come quickly to my help.
12 Ó Deus, não te alongues de mim; meu Deus, apressa-te em ajudar-me.
13 Let those who say evil against my soul be overcome and put to shame; let my haters be made low and have no honour.
13 Sejam confundidos e consumidos os que são adversários da minha alma; cubram-se de opróbrio e de confusão aqueles que procuram o meu mal.
14 But I will go on ever hoping, and increasing in all your praise.
14 Mas eu esperarei continuamente e te louvarei cada vez mais.
15 My mouth will make clear your righteousness and your salvation all the day; for they are more than may be measured.
15 A minha boca relatará as bênçãos da tua justiça e da tua salvação todo o dia, posto que não conheça o seu número.
16 I will give news of the great acts of the Lord God; my words will be of your righteousness, and of yours only.
16 Sairei na força do SENHOR Deus; farei menção da tua justiça, e só dela.
17 O God, you have been my teacher from the time when I was young; and I have been talking of your works of wonder even till now.
17 Ensinaste-me, ó Deus, desde a minha mocidade; e até aqui tenho anunciado as tuas maravilhas.
18 Now when I am old and grey-headed, O God, give me not up; till I have made clear your strength to this generation, and your power to all those to come.

19 Your righteousness, O God, is very high; you have done great things; O God, who is like you?

20 You, who have sent great and bitter troubles on me, will give me life again, lifting me up from the deep waters of the underworld.

1 Give the king your authority, O God, and your righteousness to the king’s son.
1 Ó Deus, dá ao rei os teus juízos e a tua justiça, ao filho do rei.
2 May he be a judge of your people in righteousness, and make true decisions for the poor.
2 Ele julgará o teu povo com justiça e os teus pobres com juízo.
3 May the mountains give peace to the people, and the hills righteousness.
3 Os montes trarão paz ao povo, e os outeiros, justiça.
4 May he be a judge of the poor among the people, may he give salvation to the children of those who are in need; by him let the violent be crushed.

8 Let his kingdom be from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.

9 Let those who are against him go down before him; and let his haters be low in the dust.
9 Aqueles que habitam no deserto se inclinarão ante ele, e os seus inimigos lamberão o pó.
10 Let the kings of Tarshish and of the islands come back with offerings; let the kings of Sheba and Seba give of their stores.
10 Os reis de Társis e das ilhas trarão presentes; os reis de Sabá e de Sebá oferecerão dons.
11 Yes, let all kings go down before him; let all nations be his servants.

12 For he will be a saviour to the poor in answer to his cry; and to him who is in need, without a helper.

13 He will have pity on the poor, and be the saviour of those who are in need.
13 Compadecer-se-á do pobre e do aflito e salvará a alma dos necessitados.
14 He will keep their souls free from evil designs and violent attacks; and their blood will be of value in his eyes.
14 Libertará a sua alma do engano e da violência, e precioso será o seu sangue aos olhos dele.
15 May he have long life, and may gold from Sheba be given to him: may prayers be made for him at all times; may blessings be on him every day.
15 E viverá, e se lhe dará do ouro de Sabá, e continuamente se fará por ele oração, e todos os dias o bendirão.
16 May there be wide-stretching fields of grain in the land, shaking on the top of the mountains, full of fruit like Lebanon: may its stems be unnumbered like the grass of the earth.
16 Haverá um punhado de trigo na terra sobre os cumes dos montes; o seu fruto se moverá como o Líbano, e os da cidade florescerão como a erva da terra.
17 May his name go on for ever, as long as the sun: may men be blessing themselves by him; may all nations be blessing his name.
17 O seu nome permanecerá eternamente; o seu nome se irá propagando de pais a filhos, enquanto o sol durar; e os homens serão abençoados nele; todas as nações lhe chamarão bem-aventurado.
18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, the only doer of wonders.

1 Truly, God is good to Israel, even to such as are clean in heart.

2 But as for me, my feet had almost gone from under me; I was near to slipping;
2 Quanto a mim, os meus pés quase que se desviaram; pouco faltou para que escorregassem os meus passos.
3 Because of my envy of the men of pride, when I saw the well-being of the wrongdoers.
3 Pois eu tinha inveja dos soberbos, ao ver a prosperidade dos ímpios.
4 For they have no pain; their bodies are fat and strong.
4 Porque não há apertos na sua morte, mas firme está a sua força.
5 They are not in trouble as others are; they have no part in the unhappy fate of men.
5 Não se acham em trabalhos como outra gente, nem são afligidos como outros homens.
6 For this reason pride is round them like a chain; they are clothed with violent behaviour as with a robe.

7 Their eyes are bursting with fat; they have more than their heart’s desire.

8 Their thoughts are deep with evil designs; their talk from their seats of power is of cruel acts.
8 São corrompidos e tratam maliciosamente de opressão; falam arrogantemente.
9 Their mouth goes up to heaven; their tongues go walking through the earth.
9 Erguem a sua boca contra os céus, e a sua língua percorre a terra.
10 For this reason they are full of bread; and water is ever flowing for them.
10 Pelo que o seu povo volta aqui, e águas de copo cheio se lhes espremem.
11 And they say, How will the Lord see this? is there knowledge in the Most High?
11 E dizem: Como o sabe Deus? Ou: Há conhecimento no Altíssimo?
12 Truly, such are the sinners; they do well at all times, and their wealth is increased.
12 Eis que estes são ímpios; e, todavia, estão sempre em segurança, e se lhes aumentam as riquezas.
13 As for me, I have made my heart clean to no purpose, washing my hands in righteousness;
13 Na verdade que em vão tenho purificado o meu coração e lavado as minhas mãos na inocência.
14 For I have been troubled all the day; every morning have I undergone punishment.
14 Pois todo o dia tenho sido afligido e castigado cada manhã.
15 If I would make clear what it is like, I would say, You are false to the generation of your children.
15 Se eu dissesse: Também falarei assim; eis que ofenderia a geração de teus filhos.
16 When my thoughts were turned to see the reason of this, it was a weariness in my eyes;
16 Quando pensava em compreender isto, fiquei sobremodo perturbado;
17 Till I went into God’s holy place, and saw the end of the evil-doers.
17 até que entrei no santuário de Deus; então, entendi eu o fim deles.
18 You put their feet where there was danger of slipping, so that they go down into destruction.
18 Certamente, tu os puseste em lugares escorregadios; tu os lanças em destruição.
19 How suddenly are they wasted! fears are the cause of their destruction.
19 Como caem na desolação, quase num momento! Ficam totalmente consumidos de terrores.
20 As a dream when one is awake, they are ended; they are like an image gone out of mind when sleep is over.
20 Como faz com um sonho o que acorda, assim, ó Senhor, quando acordares, desprezarás a aparência deles.
21 My heart was made bitter, and I was pained by the bite of grief:
21 Assim, o meu coração se azedou, e sinto picadas nos meus rins.
22 As for me, I was foolish, and without knowledge; I was like a beast before you.
22 Assim, me embruteci e nada sabia; era como animal perante ti.
23 But still I am ever with you; you have taken me by my right hand.
23 Todavia, estou de contínuo contigo; tu me seguraste pela mão direita.
24 Your wisdom will be my guide, and later you will put me in a place of honour.
24 Guiar-me-ás com o teu conselho e, depois, me receberás em glória.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you? and having you I have no desire for anything on earth.
25 A quem tenho eu no céu senão a ti? E na terra não há quem eu deseje além de ti.
26 My flesh and my heart are wasting away: but God is the Rock of my heart and my eternal heritage.

27 For those who are far away from you will come to destruction: you will put an end to all those who have not kept faith with you.

28 But it is good for me to come near to God: I have put my faith in the Lord God, so that I may make clear all his works.
28 Mas, para mim, bom é aproximar-me de Deus; pus a minha confiança no SENHOR Deus, para anunciar todas as tuas obras.
Psalms 74
1 Of God, why have you put us away from you for ever? why is the fire of your wrath smoking against the sheep who are your care?
1 Ó Deus, por que nos rejeitaste para sempre? Por que se acende a tua ira contra as ovelhas do teu pasto?
2 Keep in mind your band of worshippers, for whom you gave payment in the days which are past, whom you took for yourself as the people of your heritage; even this mountain of Zion, which has been your resting-place.
2 Lembra-te da tua congregação, que compraste desde a antiguidade; da tua herança que remiste, deste monte Sião, em que habitaste.
3 Go up and see the unending destruction; all the evil which your haters have done in the holy place;
3 Levanta-te contra as perpétuas assolações, contra tudo o que o inimigo tem feito de mal no santuário.
4 Sending out their voices like lions among your worshippers; they have put up their signs to be seen.
4 Os teus inimigos bramam no meio dos lugares santos; põem neles as suas insígnias por sinais.
5 They are cutting down, like a man whose blade is lifted up against the thick trees.
5 Parecem-se com o homem que avança com o seu machado através da espessura do arvoredo.
6 Your doors are broken down with hammers and iron blades.
6 Eis que toda a obra entalhada quebram com machados e martelos.
7 They have put on fire your holy place; they have made the place of your name unclean, pulling it down to the earth.
7 Lançaram fogo ao teu santuário; profanaram, derribando-a até ao chão, a morada do teu nome.
8 They have said in their hearts, Let us put an end to them all together; they have given over to the fire all God’s places of worship in the land.
8 Disseram no seu coração: Despojemo-los de uma vez. Queimaram todos os lugares santos de Deus na terra.
9 We do not see our signs: there is no longer any prophet, or anyone among us to say how long.
9 Já não vemos os nossos sinais, já não há profeta; nem há entre nós alguém que saiba até quando isto durará.
10 O God, how long will those who are against us say cruel things? will the hater go on looking down on your name for ever?
10 Até quando, ó Deus, nos afrontará o adversário? Blasfemará o inimigo o teu nome para sempre?
11 Why are you keeping back your hand, and covering your right hand in your robe?
11 Por que retiras a tua mão, sim, a tua destra? Tira-a do teu seio e consome-os.
12 For from the past God is my King, working salvation in the earth.
12 Todavia, Deus é o meu Rei desde a antiguidade, operando a salvação no meio da terra.
13 The sea was parted in two by your strength; the heads of the great sea-beasts were broken.
13 Tu dividiste o mar pela tua força; quebrantaste a cabeça dos monstros das águas.
14 The heads of the great snake were crushed by you; you gave them as food to the fishes of the sea.
14 Fizeste em pedaços as cabeças do leviatã, e o deste por mantimento aos habitantes do deserto.
15 You made valleys for fountains and springs; you made the ever-flowing rivers dry.
15 Fendeste a fonte e o ribeiro; secaste os rios impetuosos.
16 The day is yours and the night is yours: you made the light and the sun.
16 Teu é o dia e tua é a noite; preparaste a luz e o sol.
17 By you all the limits of the earth were fixed; you have made summer and winter.
17 Estabeleceste todos os limites da terra; verão e inverno, tu os formaste.
18 Keep this in mind, O Lord, that your haters have said cruel things, and that your name has been looked down on by a people of evil behaviour.
18 Lembra-te disto: que o inimigo afrontou ao SENHOR, e que um povo louco blasfemou o teu nome.
19 O give not the soul of your dove to the hawk; let not the life of the poor go out of your memory for ever.
19 Não entregues às feras a alma da tua pombinha; não te esqueças para sempre da vida dos teus aflitos.
20 Keep in mind your undertaking; for the dark places of the earth are full of pride and cruel acts.
20 Atenta para o teu concerto, pois os lugares tenebrosos da terra estão cheios de moradas de crueldade.
21 O let not the crushed be turned back in shame; let the low man and the poor give praise to your name.
21 Oh! Não volte envergonhado o oprimido; louvem o teu nome o aflito e o necessitado.
22 Up! O God, be the judge of your cause; keep in mind the bitter things which the man of evil behaviour says against you every day.
22 Levanta-te, ó Deus, pleiteia a tua própria causa; lembra-te da afronta que o louco te faz cada dia.
23 Keep in mind the voice of your haters; the outcry of those who come against you goes up every day.
23 Não te esqueças dos gritos dos teus inimigos; o tumulto daqueles que se levantam contra ti aumenta continuamente.
Psalms 75
1 To you, O God, we give praise, to you we give praise: and those who give honour to your name make clear your works of power.
1 A ti, ó Deus, glorificamos, a ti damos louvor, pois o teu nome está perto, as tuas maravilhas o declaram.
2 When the right time has come, I will be the judge in righteousness.
2 Quando eu ocupar o lugar determinado, julgarei retamente.
3 When the earth and all its people become feeble, I am the support of its pillars. (Selah.)
3 Dissolve-se a terra e todos os seus moradores, mas eu fortaleci as suas colunas. (Selá)
4 I say to the men of pride, Let your pride be gone: and to the sinners, Let not your horn be lifted up.
4 Disse eu aos loucos: não enlouqueçais; e aos ímpios: não levanteis a fronte;
5 Let not your horn be lifted up: let no more words of pride come from your outstretched necks.
5 não levanteis a fronte altiva, nem faleis com cerviz dura.
6 For honour does not come from the east, or from the west, or uplifting from the south;
6 Porque nem do Oriente, nem do Ocidente, nem do deserto vem a exaltação.
7 But God is the judge, putting down one, and lifting up another.
7 Mas Deus é o juiz; a um abate e a outro exalta.
8 For in the hand of the Lord is a cup, and the wine is red; it is well mixed, overflowing from his hand: he will make all the sinners of the earth take of it, even to the last drop.
8 Porque na mão do SENHOR há um cálice cujo vinho ferve, cheio de mistura, e dá a beber dele; certamente todos os ímpios da terra sorverão e beberão as suas fezes.
9 But I will ever be full of joy, making songs of praise to the God of Jacob.
9 Mas, quanto a mim, exultarei para sempre; cantarei louvores ao Deus de Jacó.
10 By him will all the horns of the sinners be cut off; but the horns of the upright will be lifted up.
10 E quebrantarei todas as forças dos ímpios, mas as forças dos justos serão exaltadas.
Psalms 76
1 In Judah is the knowledge of God; his name is great in Israel,
1 Conhecido é Deus em Judá; grande é o seu nome em Israel.
2 In Salem is his tent, his resting-place in Zion.
2 E em Salém está o seu tabernáculo, e a sua morada, em Sião.
3 There were the arrows of the bow broken, there he put an end to body-cover, sword, and fight. (Selah.)

1 I was crying to God with my voice; even to God with my voice, and he gave ear to me.
1 Clamei a Deus com a minha voz; a Deus levantei a minha voz, e ele inclinou para mim os ouvidos.
2 In the day of my trouble, my heart was turned to the Lord: my hand was stretched out in the night without resting; my soul would not be comforted.
2 No dia da minha angústia busquei ao Senhor; a minha mão se estendeu de noite e não cessava; a minha alma recusava ser consolada.
